First time my wife and I have walked a Via Ferrate. It was a fairly mild route, but I found them very easy to use.

Great, easy to use. Useful to have a spare loop for "rest" Carabiner for taking photos (need to provide own Carabiner). Note: there were plenty of good/ better VF lanyards in the shops in the Dolomites for less.

Just started adventure with climbing and Ferrata. Friend of mine, who climb over 23years now recommend me the Petzl brand. And I fully rely on friend advice.

Works well. Biners are big enough to clip iron rungs as well as cables. Easy one handed operation. Care needs to be taken to avoid slings from twisting around each other. The middle rest sling is essential on steep and overhanging via ferrata.

There is nothing wrong with the product as such - thankfully I didn’t need to test it’s functionality. It all seems like decent quality as Petzl stuff usually is.However for via Ferrata the clips are not suitable. You are required to unhook with your finger pushing down & back on the front of the clip as per the picture. The opening is very narrow - just slightly wider then the cable - which means that this not only slows you down a lot, you also nick your finger half of the time. Fiddling around trying to get the hooks on the cable is not what you want to be doing 100s of metres off the ground.Spend a bit more money and buy the Petzl Easyhook where you open by pushing at the back. The opening is also wider. Otherwise Elderid and Salewa have similar mechanisms. Seeing other people use this, they are much quicker and pain free.

very light sports harness. Ideal for via ferrata, does not take up much space. Disposable, if you use it once it requires regeneration from the manufacturer.
