Game changer for the allotment.
For about 2 years I used a knockoff 'for Makita' LED light, after it killed a second battery I decided to get a proper Makita branded device that won't murder the batteries. I've been hugely impressed with the DML806.I use it as a site light on my allotment it gives excellent illumination covering a huge area and at a level that doesn't hurt the eyes or impair your sight when you catch it in your vision like my knock off light did. I use it with a knock off 5.0Ah battery and working for hours uses very little power. According to Makita it does 21 hours in 180° lantern mode and 11 hours in 360° lantern mode, but based on my use so far I suspect those figures are a little conservative. In torch mode it has a long wide beam and is an easy shape to carry, well balanced even with a 5Ah battery stuck on the back, but given how good the lantern mode is I rarely use it.The hook on the top is a great feature and more useful than I expected having been used to sitting my light on a flat surface, I've used it to hang the lantern on a fence, pole, post and branches. I've also found the hook handy to attach the lantern to jacket breast pocket if I'm moving about a lot or hang it from crates or equipment I'm carrying so I can see where I'm going. Best thing about the hook is it's just the right size to hang from the handlebar of my Hawksmoor 2 stroke strimmer so I can use it on the dark evenings taking the light with me instead of having to keep stopping to reposition my light source which is a total game changer.

It's allight... Get it?
Lights up things in the dark, or where the light doesn't go... Uses the Makita batteries I already have, lasts a while, and the different modes sr useful. What else can I say about a torch? It's just a handy thing to have.

Torch Bright Enough to Light up a Whole Room
Bought this makita torch to replace another older torch I had that stopped working.Using this torch helped massively while we renovated our house. It would light up whole rooms allowing a sparky to get in and work with the mains power off. It was used for under the house as well. Proving great light to where our boiler is. The 3 functions are good and easy to use, allowing for more direct focus of the light to a certain area. The torch is lightweight so easy to carry and has a sturdy hook for hanging the light onto something to keep your hands free for working. I would definitely buy this again.

Good bit of kit if your invested in cordless makita tools
First picture is lamp on full brightness in a standard uk trailer. I found the build quality to be on part with other makita tools as it’s made from the same plastic, the lamp part felt more solid than I thought it would and I don’t agree with comments that it could easy break I thinks it’s the same risk if you drop any power tool from height. The light on full power was bright and gave good all round light. The second setting just lights up the front part of the lamp and gave a good light. The torch option on the top was adequate but I feel they could have put more effort in and put a few more powerful leds to make this a good all rounder. I would have liked a protective case to protect the lamp from scratches when put into a tool bag. The unit is lite and only the size of the battery makes it heavy. The runtime depends on your battery I used a 5ah and it easy lasted my entire shift. I would recommend this product.

Typical Makita quality
This 18V cordless LED light is the latest addition to my growing Makita family of tools. As usual with Makita, the design, materials, workmanship and operation are excellent. The light given off is really impressive. I primarily bought it with power outages in mind but I'm sure that it will have other uses as well.
