Unbelievable improvement
This was one of those articles that I was skeptical if really work, but I give it a try. Our water is not the hardest, let me start with that. In about two months we are cleaning the toilet bowls with no chemicals at all, just a brush an very little effort. Previously we used chemicals and had to wait for about 15 mins. Just in money savings of the chemicals, time saved, and no chemicals smell it is definitely a win.Shower heads are not clogging and cleaning the shower is just a matter of a damp cloth.Easy and quick to install, one of the best investments I had made.

When I saw something like this at Hom e Creepo
This thing really works. My house is 72 years old with Galvanized pipe. We have HARD water and of course its built up inside the pipes. When I bought my house 18 years ago, it came with a broken water softener and several bags of salt. I didn't want to spend 2 thousand on a water softener so I just lived with it... after so many years, the corrosion has gotten to the point where I was considering removing all of the pipes from my house and replacing with plastic. When I saw something like this at Hom e Creepo , I decided to look into it. THIS one Calmat had the best worldwide reputation and works differently than most scale blasters so I took a chance and bought it.for $350, 2 months after install I can tell you it REALLY works!!!! I have been out of rise aid for months in my dishwasher but now don't need it, my glasses come out spotless! no more crap around the faucets too , it also got rid of a problem I was having with a instant hot water heater not sensing moving water and therefor not heating it... LOVE THIS CALMAT!

This certainly has not effect on scale deposits
I purchased this item 6 months ago - too bad the return window for this item is gone. So the money is lost. My sinks, dishwasher, and faucets still have an immense amount of scaling and white residue. This product does not work. I tried various set-up configurations to see if these is a change. But none of the changes have an effect. Today I am installing a water softener which uses the old salt solution, I have had that before, but wanted to safe money. Now I lost $330 dollars for the "snake oil" solution.

Working well
I read quite a bit about electronic descalers, both the magnetic and capacitive types. Reviews and testing were mixed and I honestly didn't think it would work. My main reason for purchasing the unit was to reduce or eliminate the calcium deposit ring in our pool. It's hard to remove and expensive to have it done professionally. We also have calcium residue on shower heads and glassware from the dishwasher.I tested our water and it is not very hard. The only issue we have is with calcium. From what I have read, it won't help with any other minerals or metals. All of the units I looked at are designed to be installed on the inlet water pipe in a basement. We live in AZ, so no basement. This makes installation a bit harder.I bought this unit, because I liked that it was made in Germany and had lots of approvals, such as CE, UL, TUV, etc. At least I could be confident that it wouldn't burn down the house. Since it's not rated for outside mounting, I had to purchase a weather proof box to mount it. Not too bad mounting and we have a electrical outlet relatively close. What would be ideal would be the unit already mounted in a weather proof box with a small solar panel and batteries. We have had the unit installed for 2 months. Our shower head has zero calcium build up in this time. Also, glassware does not have the spotting and rings that they did before. So far, the pool is fine, but it will take several more months of testing before I know that it definitely works there. So, at least in our case, it does seem to work. I'll try to report back again in a few more months with additional observations.UPDATE: I've had the unit for a little over a year. Calcium build-up on the tile of our pool is definitely less. The big positive is a pumice block removes the build-up fairly easily. This is much different than before the installation, when the calcium was almost impossible to remove. Based on this, I would say the unit works as advertised.

Water Softner
No more lugging bags of salt, breaking my back trying to get them in the softener reservoir.... NO MORE SALT. Whew! We bought this product for our home 2 years ago for a quarter of what a new salt water system cost. It took about 20 minutes to install, with no tools needed. Every month I test our water softness with the strips I purchased and every month our water test indicates our water is soft. The calcium deposits on the inside on my dishwasher, toilets and showers are gone. We just purchased it again for our rental property and our renters love it. I would buy this produce again and again if needed. Great value, ease of installation and the product works without you having to do anything. Nothing but happy!!

Our new Calmat no salt water softener
Our Calmat arrived promptly, but we did not install it ourselves. Our plumber said he is installing more and more of the electronic softeners and the German products seem great! We have only had it a few weeks but thus far - no problems. Even with the installation fee from our plumber we feel it was reasonable. We also love having one less water tank and no extra salt in our water.

Doesn't work
We had high hopes for this product because we have well water and heavy mineral content. It doesn't do the job for us.

Not sure if this is effective...
Well, the product box and the product description doesn't mention how much length of pipe you need to fully wrap the cable. My installation had to use one wrap vertical, one horizontal. The pictures seem to show the width of one side of the completed wrap being less than the width of the device. Left me wondering why it visually didn't "match". Should I have double wrapped? Does the wires need to be wrapped in the same direction? Should've had more clear directions. I got this on the payment plan. We'll see if it changes the water and descales all the buildup. I'm skeptical.
