works fine for couple of days then turns itself off meaning have to restart it.Edit. Seller sent me out a new unit. Works perfectly now thanks v much.

Bought this a few months ago and thought it was time for a review.Nice small optical ATO that has proven to be very reliable on a small nano reef tank. Easy to setup and and absolutely trust worthy. Snall pump is pumping RO water about 1 metre up with ease.Overall, a great value and trustworthy piece of kit!

This ATO doesn't have a high level of precision. Unlike other optical ATO devices I have used, this one doesn't keep the water level to the 'point' of the low optical pyramid sensor, what happens is when the level reaches the low part of the sensor, it tops up the tank until it reaches the middle of the device - the area between the two sensors - where it wants the water line to be. You set it like this when first using it. This is made very clear in the manual, but not mentioned in the listing.What this means is that your salinity will wildly fluctuate as a lot of evaporation has to occur to bring the level down to the low top off point slowly increasing salinity, then an 'algorithm' works out how much to fill the tank to bring the level back between the two sensors. This can be A LOT of water depending, on the size of your system, being dumped back in in one go reducing salinity back down again far too quickly.I thought this would maintain the water level at the low sensor point, like every other optical ATO, but it isn't so. It says in the manual this is to reduce the number of times the pump has to be activated day to day, prolonging its life. Considering it says for saltwater use in the title, this is a large oversight that must not be ignored.This will work great for a freshwater tank, but is useless for marine.

Good quality and good design, it work perfectly, the only thing I would say the sensor need to be attached with super glue or silicone as the magnet doesn’t hold it firmly in place! Also would be nice if the sensor itself flash when it is working so you can see it .

Only problem that’s shown up is the tubingCould do with a kink free tubingSorry to say Had to buy some new tubing as supplied item not fit for purpose .That apart easy set up and level warning if water level is wrong .

The media could not be loaded. I received the ATO and immediately installed it onto my aquarium. I was surprised at how easy it was to install and setup, with the instructions being very clear and easy to follow.Over the next few hours I continuously tested the device purposely dropping the water level making sure it wouldn't over fill as others I've owned in the past had done.To summarise my experience with this ATOAmazing build qualityEasy setupEasy InstallWill be buying more for my other tanks in the future.

I have had this ato set up for 1 week now. And it works perfectly. It looks and works exactly the same as another well know brands ato. but fzone have added a pause/resume button feature that is massively helpful. When changing water before I had to switch off/unplug, as when I started removing water ato would start operating. Fzone have fixed this annoying problem by adding this simple button 👌

I cannot rely on this ATO because if there is a power cut not setting up itself automatically. After power cut you need to push the button for 3 secondsIf I go for holiday and there is a power cut it won’t workA bit disappointed because I need to buy a different one which works after a power cutUpdate: also it just worked for a year. every second day goes into red without any reason.
