I have done hand work for many many years, but as time went on, I got more involved and whatever the popular craft of the year was I still did cruel embroidery kits and candle wicking, but switched to more paper crafts for quite a few years. Jewelry making has been a passion And was very intricate since I have aged my hands are just not as adapt with tiny jewelry findings, and tools, so was becoming a little frustrated. I remembered all of them many many things I’ve embroidered in my early years and found that I could find tutorials online that really peaked my interest. I love this box from the moment I saw it, but thought it was a bit pricey. I did catch it on sale and immediately purchased it. It’s a very nicely printed tutorial, and a reminder of how basic and not so basic the stitches should be made to come out as beautifully as possible. I’m very very pleased. Not sticking 100% to their color scheme going off on my own a little bit there with my practice stitches, but who cares?

Good information easy to read and understand

Part of what appealed to me was the fact that there were instructional videos on YouTube that go along with the kit. Don't expect help from the "instructional videos". They are just videos where you watch someone embroidering without any instructions - just royalty free music playing in the background. No idea how they get from one spot to another or what is going on in the back of the piece. If they showed the whole process it might help, but they dont. All of a sudden they will be on a new part and they didn't show you how they got there. Did they make a knot? If so, how. Did they travel up the back (it wasn't too far, so maybe?) Who knows? The kit itself is nice and I think there are enough other videos on YouTube to teach yourself, but I liked the idea of basically learning along to my actual kit. Oh well. At least the patterns are really pretty.

Only flaw wish the Instructions were more easy to follow

Have not used it yet but seems simple enough for a beginner to follow.

I watched a small portion of the recommended YouTube video and it showed me how to use the card that holds the floss. You will have to divide the threads I was able to do most all of color number 6 (I had to get another for the woven rose) on the 1st sample with 1 meter. Doing just color #6 took me 2 hours, I embroidered a little when I was a kid and I only was taught one stitch so I’m not very experienced. I really like the set and look forward to completing it and purchasing more complex things as I got this set for practice and learning new stitches. I included a picture of the back as well, I cut and knotted for each section because I don’t want to run out.

Gotta admit was a little disappointed. The printed fabric is well done and the designs are a delight however, when you put a picture of 3 completed projects each with a hoop and then the kit only contains ONE hoop when the intention is to display the finished items in a hoop it seems there should have been 3 hoops included as the full kit. We also found the skinny instruction manual a bit of a let down. So the bits we got were good but for the price we felt a little shorted. Just my 2 cents.

I bought this as a gift for a friend who has just started their hand at embroidery. They absolutely love it!! It has 3 projects that start with the easiest stitches and build up to more complicated ones. They will make a really cute decoration and you can see your progress in each one. Great idea for anyone starting an embroidery hobby.
