Add says fire safe and waterproof. There is now way possible for either of those to be true when there are holes in the back and the door is not tight.

While the safe is a nice size to place in a closet, It is far from being water and fireproof. It will prevent someone from accessing the items you keep in the safe, but in the event of a fire I am sure items would be ruined. It is basically a thick steel box with a programmable digital lock.
