If I could give less than 1 star, I would!The instructions are horrible (not clear). For example, to set a personal code, one must "input a new code and press the "A" (C/#) or "B" (E/*) button". However, keypad is only numbers (no letters). Also, while we were finally able to enter a code, the door would not lock. The lock is stuck in an open position. Using the "master key" doesn't help. We were hoping that we were getting a simple safe at a reasonable price. Just spent nearly $100 for a black box that is unusable. User instructions for "any help, kindly consult the local distributor. After sale: any questions, please contact us" and an email address is given. Absolutely no response to any emails we've sent!

My review is for the smaller safe in this listing. I own a few similar safes, have returned several and have done significant research. You don't get a great safe for well under $100. That said, this isn't the worst small safe for the price. Weight is about 22 lbs. It does need to be screwed to something (wall stud, for example). It has two predrilled holes in the back, none on the bottom. Some will complain the holes mean it's not waterproof, but the safe must be secured to something to prevent removal of the whole safe. The exterior depth is actually 11" (not 9.85") and that extra 1.15" is important for firearm storage. Unfortunately, in order for the door to properly align, they've put soft foam shims inside the bolt slot to push the door back into alignment. Without them, the door comes a bit forward allowing insertion of a screw driver which may allow the door to be pried open. If you're handy, you might switch those shims to hard plastic, which is what lines the bolt holes anyway. This safe will not keep a skilled thief with tools at bay for long, but will keep out children and snatch and run thieves without tools. My safe does not have an interior light. Note that the door is removable by lifting it up and out of the hinges when open which may allow you to put larger items into the safe. You will need 4 AA batteries which are not included. As safes on Amazon go, this is reasonably sturdy, but you absolutely must secure it to something. Workmanship on this unit is mediocre at best.
