Rip and Tear
Every year, my home is besieged by a legion of fruit flys/drain flys. In the past, simple lures were able to control their population. This year, during time away from my home, they found refuge in an open bottle of Coca-Cola and raised their foul brood within it. After returning from my week away from home, I found my home taken over by this foul enemy. Standards traps were not enough to control the population of this foe, and I was in search of a weapon. I found this trusty device and quickly ordered it to my front door. As soon as I opened it up and charged it, I turned on my Bluetooth speaker and started up the soundtrack for DOOM. As Rip and Tear filled my ears, I struck down foe after foe with this mighty weapon I have since renamed Flyscalibur. Within a matter of hours the remains of my foes littered the ground and many fled to safer pastures is in the wilderness. Though my foe is now vanquished, Flyscalibur sits above the mantel - awaiting the day where it must once again defend my home from the winged invaders.

Very effective, powerful bug zapper, highly recommended!
Excellent! I have had a few of these tennis racket style electric bug zappers over the years, they all seem to work okay, until the batteries got low. Then it appeared that many of the fruit flies and flies I was zapping were simply just stunned for a while, and got back up to annoy me again! So I opted to get this one because it has 4,000 volts, and is rechargeable, so no draining battery issues, it even has indicator lights to let you know when it's getting low and needs a recharge! Plus, you can put it on the full on mode so you don't have to hold the button down and really go to town on those pesky bugs! It sounds like a machine gun when it hits a bunch of them, a little loud but worth the noise - kills bugs dead! I haven't tried leaving it running in the stand as yet, but I do think that would work on mosquitoes. It looks sharp, made with quality, lightweight and easy to wield, the purple light is very cool looking. It's better made than the inferior ones I had before, don't cheap out just to save a few bucks, spend the extra money and get this one, you won't be disappointed! I should know that only a couple of bugs survive the electric screen, it seems some fruit flies are so small they can pass right through unscathed, but it's pretty rare. The kill ratio is very high with this one!

amazing!
I saw a video for this device, and it piqued my curiosity. I bought this one and another brand to compare the features. I have to say, this one is the winner, hands down. One of the features that makes it superior was that you do not have to hold down the button to activate the electric. Unlike a fly swatter, you do not swat at bugs, but just gently wave it around when a bug is flying near you. The bugs get bopped and zapped. By not needing to hold the button you don't have to find the button when you need it quickly. The other benefit is that you can keep the device active on its stand so if any fly into it, it takes care of them. They do not seem to be attracted to it, so it is just by chance that they fly into it. I set it on the table next to me in case they are lured in by my breath. I live in the country where mosquitoes and gnats are common this time of year and although I have a regular zapper, this is actually more effective - because not all bugs go for the zapper, but most will go for a human's breath. The other feature that I think makes it superior is that the grid pattern is very small. Although the one with the wider grid does effectively take down small bugs, like gnats, I think this one gets more. It definitely doesn't eliminate every bug - but it definitely helps. As with other brands, it does have a usb charging feature. I specifically chose that because replacing batteries did not sound like something I would want to deal with. It holds a charge for quite a while - enough for me to spend a few hours outside, for several days, before it needs charging. It takes a few hours to charge.

Strong zap, weak light
This thing zaps hard — sounds like a real bug zapper and has the power to back it up. Some flies get stunned and escape unless you finish them off, but if one gets caught in the grid, it cooks (and smells). The purple light? Useless. Didn’t attract mosquitoes, flies, or even moths — not outside, not at night, not near a window.Takes a bit to learn how to use it right. Decent build, but don’t swing it like a regular swatter.

Works good
This makes it much easier to catch flying insects now because I don't have to wait for them to land somewhere. Just wave it around. If it does land though, you can trap it easily. You can use this passively too, by leaving it alone while turned on. The bugs will be attracted to it and kill themselves. But you should keep it plugged in for that because the battery only lasts for a few hours if left on continuously - which is perfectly reasonable. My only nitpick with this is that I wish it had a loop on the end so you can hang it up, instead of using the flimsy stand that it comes with. Do you really want to set this on your tabletop, with the carnage it leaves all around it? Maybe, if you give it it's own table. Otherwise place it on the floor. Bottom line, though, I do recommend this item.

I love these zappers!
I love these zappers. I’ve been using bug zappers for years, started with the aa battery kind. I’m so glad I ordered these last year. Being able to leave it on, in the stand, plugged in all the time is great. Rogue mosquitos that make their way in, typically get zapped before I even see it. These work so well, will explode any small bug into smoke. It stops big bugs too, just doesn’t make them explode. Gotta shake the big ones off after you zap them. I call them barbecue bugs. 😂I have two houses & have now bought 4 sets of these. Four zappers active at each house. In Florida, there’s no shortage of bugs, big, small, flying or otherwise, there’s a ton. During certain times of the year here, having one in each room & one on the porch, can make all the difference I’m how much those bugs, bug you!
