Great product, easy to clean especially if you can put in a paper filter for a day or two while you let this one dry. Mine got too dirty and damaged due to heavy driving. I sent pictures over to K&N and they are sending a replacement.

I did first 1000 km with the K&N filter and feels well. It is proved that increase power (search Youtube) and the car feels little bit more responsive. It is necessary to buy the cleaning products in order to maintain the quality.

All in you are looking at just over 85$ with the cleaner kit. That means this filter will pay for itself after the 3rd-4th cleaning. Since you can clean these, you can have a clean cabin filter more often. It takes about 15 minutes to clean the filter with the kit, which is super easy; total time after drying is about 45 minutes. So you can have clean air in your car, more often, and it pays for itself super fast. I highly recommend.

I have experience with K&N air filters dating back many years (motorcycles (dirt bikes) and Rotax airplane engine). They do the job superbly and keep hard service engines protected, So why not in an average automobile? 2015 Mazda CX5 GT (185 hp) is the auto. It fit perfectly and we headed out on a 3200-mile vacation. Results, performance and economy both improved. The car had about 6000 miles before installing the K&N, so we had some experience in town and going back and forth from Houston and Austin. The 3200 mile trip to NM, CO, KS, OK and TX produced an overall average of 29.7 mpg with a low of 24.94 and a high of 36.88. Surprisingly, the best mileage came form CO, but the rest was also impressive. Did I baby the car ... no. Drove it normally, i.e. the way I always drive.Smart purchase!

After years of debate about these drop in filters, I decided to give it a try. I'm very happy with the quality. It's a little floppy, so be sure it is sitting flush in the air box. My engine seems a little more responsive, but it could be because the old filter was clogged with all the ash from recent fires.

Bought this to install in my brand new Mazda CX-5 2016.5. I use K&N filters in all my vehicles and I am overly satisfied.Dropped in in replacement of the OEM filter "week 2" of ownership, so I don't know if the 1-2 mpg improvement I saw on the trip computer is due to the filter, the engine/trans getting a bit broken in or the traffic being easier as this is the biggest factor in a car used for commuting in SoCal.The sound did not seem to improve/change much, but the car is not revved hard often for me to notice. Again, I did not really expect any performance gains for the type of vehicle, its use & the rest of the engine being completely stock. The factory airbox seems decently free-flowing as its usually the case with Mazdas. It was mainly bought to save money & reduce waste over the long run of ownership.
