This is simply one of the most charming sitcoms I've ever come across. Some of the one-liners are just laugh out loud funny. Most you just give a chuckle to. But a good chuckle might I add. The atmosphere to the sets used is immersive. They are not mega-fancy. But they do the job of making you believe in the world on display. This helps make the show shine a little more.The girls are perfect as a team. They work well off of each other. I had a crush on Blanche when I was younger. I still do now I can watch all of the show this time round. I can still see the appeal I saw in Blanche all those years ago. I wouldn't choose Blanche over the other three though. The show has a perfect cast. I think this is one of the main reasons for it's popularity.Sitcoms like this are timeless. I mean the comedy and the makes you feel happy feeling just never get old. I am constantly building my sitcom collection of shows I watched growing up. And shows today. But there is not enough sitcoms today like there used to be. This is a shame. We need more quality shows like The Golden Girls on TV. Shows that when watching them make you forget the world outside for a while. Shows that make you feel happy when listening to the audience laughter at the wise cracks being fired off. It's all morale boosting for me. The audience laughter doesn't tell me when to laugh. It just makes the show feel like a happier world being displayed.The title on the boxed set both on the outer box and on the cases is in English (The Golden Girls). The text on the back is in German as is a tiny piece of text on the bottom of the front covers. None of this is a problem. When you put disc one of season one on for instance. The entire menu is in English. Even if it wasn't it would be a simple setup. Top option = play all. Middle option = episode select. Bottom option = Audio setup to change languages for viewing.I have Married With Children (French Import). The Cosby Show (Dutch Import). Misfits of Science (German Import). The Golden Girls (German Import). All complete shows. I have movies from Sweden, Czech Republic, Germany and more. You buy imports then the covers back and front are in the language of the country it comes from. Check the product details section of each title before purchasing. To see if it has English audio. Doesn't matter about subs in foreign languages. They can be turned off.There is no worry when purchasing this. It all plays in English fine. Menus are easy to navigate. I am so glad I got this boxed set. Now I can see the show in it's entirety. I missed some of the episodes on the shows initial airing. Time might have taken three of the ladies from us (as of typing this). Only Rose is left. They will all be remembered. Immortalized through this show.To all the fans still here. Really happy to own the full seven series of this amazing show. I had the first four in a boxset but for some reason it is impossible to find the entire set online so I opted for this german boxset because obviously it has all the seasons and the reviews were good. I'm glad to say I agree with them. Although the packaging is entirely in German, the dvds run fine. When you put on a disk the option for deutsch or English comes up, so you just select English and you're on your way. They come in a tidy box too so it keeps all cases together.

Wow what can I say about this box set. I would give it ten stars if I could!! I originally watched this Gorgeous ladies when they first hit our tv screens back in the 80's. There will and will never be a more delightful, full of laughter sitcom like this. Susan Harris the writer did an awesome job. These ladies will have you laughing and crying with laughter. No one will ever come close to these 4 lovely ladies. I originally bought this box set in 2010 but had to buy another box set as I watch them everyday as soon as I wake up I have them on either in the background whilst doing household chores or having my dinner or tea. After keep watching these dads they packed up that's how much I watch them. Never been bored of repeating them over and over. These are a really good price as well! IF YOU WANT TO WATCH AN OSCAR WINNING SITCOM, DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON ANYTHING ELSE, GET THESE!!! 😂🤣😃😅😁😊😆😉😙😄🤠😀😁🤣

The humor in this series is priceless and the writer Susan Harris (SOAP), with the 4 women works flawlessly. For anyone who hasn't seen it before, we have a a 50+ slutty southern belle called Blanche, a dumb woman called Rose whose not the brightest bulb in the box, Dorothy whose is the straight one and her mother who calls it as it is in dare I say it "Trump" fashion. Its NOT vicious humor like much of today's stuff but soft innuendo that can bring tears to your eyes laughing that encompasses sex, age, views, ex spouses, kids and grand kids. The closest UK alternatives could be Waiting for God or One Foot in the Grave but none of these are copies of each other but all stand alone on their own.

The dvd box set was in perfect condition. I’ve watched all the discs and everything was perfect.

Great collection. Don't be put off by the german packaging, the discs themselves have the usual language options and the English version is perfect. Be aware that the shows have been cleaned up for DVD and look lovely on a modern TV but are in the original ratio so the picture is square not wide screen.Fast delivery and great price for something only released in Germany.
