Decent kit but not for a beginner
Have only just started building this so is only based on my experience so far. To construct the towers and walls you need to join the four walls along their long edges. There is no strength in the join so it is awkward to build. I ended up using extra supports along the edges and a 3D printed square to keep things aligned. The actual look and size of the kit though is pretty good and should result in a castle that looks good once painted and weathered.Overall a good kit but will need some skill to construct.

A great castle but the devil to assemble
The most important thing to say is that this model is definitely not for beginners. I have over 50 years of modelling experience with military figures, vehicles and railways, and I can honestly say that I have never come across a more difficult model to assemble. There are many parts to the whole kit, and every sub-assembly is tricky to glue together due to a lack of locating tabs which is the norm with the majority of kit manufacturers. Also do not fit together well and consequently need a lot of filling before painting. However, after the frustration of the build, and filling and painting, the castle looks pretty impressive. It was just what I wanted for my railway layout for a Changing of the Guard scene. By the way, the kit is modular, so I was able to assemble it differently to that shown on the instructions by rearranging the towers, and length of walls using a Dremel.

Great Kit
Great Kit but be warned not for beginners expect a lot of sanding cutting and filing to make parts fit. Compatible with other kits in the range so you can make a larger castle if you wish, I've brought this and the 'medieval fortress' kit to combine to make a model castle loosely based on Dolwyddelan/ Castell y Bere . I'll try to add a photo when I've finished building in about 3 years time.

Nice Model for the price
Still in the process of building and I am enjoying the challenge. Box states "8 years and up" but I assume thats playing with it after its built. The parts are fiddly, a scalpel blade essential and perhaps a bit of filler at the end. Parts do not have a locating points so joining is complex. I would suggest bolstering up joints (matchsticks and extra plastic) to give added strength.Having said that, I'm thoroughly enjoying the model and pretending its for the grandchildren. Good value for money, but complex to build.

Terrible garbage kit
Terrible kit. Fiddly, really awful to put together. Absolutely tiny for 28mm models. Definitely not for wargaming at all and I'd be surprised if it even looked OK as a diorama as the walls are as thin is paper. Don't buy.

Well made and great value!
The photo on the box doesn't do this kit justice...A terrific model castle, ideal for diorama makers,or wargame enthusiasts alike.

Great - Just requires a lot of work
I love this castle model. It's a great design, and perfectly proportioned. Note that it requires a lot of finishing - this is not an 'Airfix' or 'Revell' type model where everything slots together with perfect edges and corners. You will need to sand and fill many completed structures to achieve a perfect finish, but the sheer level of detail in the model makes it worthwhile. Expect to spend 40 hours+ from beginning to end if you want a perfect finish.
