Yes, if you want, you can let the motor do all the work without pedaling at all. As another viewer wrote, however, it is not uncommon for a front hub motor to torque itself out of the fork. It happened to me because I ignored the instruction

Yes it does matter which way you install it. Right way will drive forward and wrong way will drive backwards.

can you use without PAS system installed? it won't fit on the bike.

My only complaint about this kit is that i could not use the provided petal assist i had it installed but there was not enough toom gor iton the crank but when it was on thete it did eork briefly but not very well anyway so after i took it off i judt have my throttle to ride with and if you think about ititsjust likehaveingpedal assist on at level 5 all the time when you need it to go up hills only differenceis you apply the pedal assist manually instead of it happening automatically not too big a deal for me

the pedal sensor will not fit my schwinn trike . is there another option ?

what do you mean by "will not fit"? The sensor or the wheel with the magnet? I had to make a bracket for the sensor to be positioned correctly and the magnet wheel needed to be reamed out to fit my peddle arms. No other option. Just find a way to attach the sensor and somehow get the magnetic wheel to attach to you peddle shaft.
