Do not over allocate amps. Use the right receptacle and plug. Match the Amps to the needed use.
Adding an EV to my garage meant I needed better allocation of the amps coming out of my 100 amp sub panel. My table saw uses only 220v 8 amps but I was using a much larger amperage receptacle. I matched this receptacle to a 220 volt15 amp plug for my table saw and it allowed for the allocation of more amps to an EV charging receptacle. The distribution is not really a problem because the EV charges at night, but just in case I have lowered the amperage allowed to the receptacle that drives my table saw.
