A quality product at a fair price to use as an Apple ® Time Machine ®
It's not clear in the description but this has a USB connector at the back that you can use to connect to an Apple iMac and then also USB A and USB C connectors on the front which you can plug other devices into and use the built in USB hub facility ie so you can transfer data directly to your computer if you have the appropriate App for the file transfer.

Excellent product
I had already purchased the same Hard drive previously and so far been Happy with it. So I have purchased another to link to a second system, and I am as happy with the new one as my original purchase. Easy to contact and get going, and it does what it says on the box, at the time of purchase, not badly priced. I am happy with my purchase.

'Almost New' items purchased directly from Amazon
Although the package had obviously been opened before, the HD was in pristine condition although obviously reformatted such that the registration file was not available so as yet I have been unable to register the purchase with Seagate. What was really annoying though was the missing USB cable. Listed as part of the box contents, but not included, so it was necessary to purchase a suitable cable as it wasn't worth returning it for this alone. Perhaps the Amazon warehouse staff need to be a bit more observant when checking returned items?

Defective
DON'T BUY THIS SHODDYLY MADE PRODUCT! Upon delivery we tried the unit and it worked as it should however, on the 2nd usage the hard drive worked intermittantly. Upon examination, we discovered the data lead plug/socket connector was faulty and not making robust connection. We discovered the particular connector was of a more flimsy design than other manufacturer's HDD we use. It is not robust enough for the application and suffers from wobble. This of course is totally unsatisfactory. If data interuption occurs during transfer, our irreplaceable data would be lost.I reported this failure Seagate but they did'nt seem particularly interested so I sent an email to their CEO but no reply. This company is keen to sell their product but when things go wrong, (even from brand new) they just don't care! Utterly unacceptable!!!

Handy
Easy to use straight out of the box. Plenty of storage space. Looks good. For the price it’s a bargain.

No good. Returned as faulty.
Must have been sent a faulty drive. When attempting to move files over for work - device returned speeds of between 0 KB/s and about 300 KB/s as can be seen in my image attached which is ludicrous.Troubleshooted the usual steps including formatting the drive, ensuring suitable power, testing USB ports (Was using a 3.0) and using Seagate's software to check for errors as my job is computer-based but couldn't get to the bottom of the issue so returned as drive as faulty.Shame as normally expect a higher quality kit from Seagate.

How should this work
I cannot get this drive to work. I cannot transfer files to it except videos. I spent the whole of yesterday afternoon trying every solution recommended including buying some software to "clean up" my pc costing £32 to no avail. This morning the drive shows it is approx 5GB full and is now locked. It should hold 4TB. What is wrong? Can I have my money back?
