I have never purchased a plant online, and was anxious about how the plant would handle shipping, but the sellers really know what they're doing when packing their plants. My plant arrived safely with one leaf, and while it was a bit wilted, it perked right up after a drink. I potted it in a four inch pot to start with, kept it on my shady porch for the first day, and slowly transitioned it to more direct sun over the next two days. I have not even had this plant for a full month, and it has quadrupled in size. It's now in a 10 inch pot, and the roots are quickly filling up that space. I lightly watered directly at the base of the plant once a day until it was established, and now it gets deeply watered at least twice a day - more so if it's scorching hot outside. I feed it a high quality fertilizer once weekly, and it is thriving. I'm very happy with the plant and the sellers, and will definitely purchase from them again!

This plant is a beast! I waited a month to write a review as shipping plants is always a gamble. The shipping was really fast and the plant had NO bugs! When the plant arrived, one leave was heavily damaged and the another leaf was brand new and had not yet uncurled. I was skeptical so I read up about the plant and put it in bright indirect light. It’s thriving! Within a day, the new leaf uncurled and it’s now quadrupled in size. Even the damaged leaf has rebounded and it now has 4 leaves. I’m pleasantly surprised. It’s the fastest growing plant I have indoors.

The plant arrived dried out and nearly dead. I followed the directions and transplanted it. It was tiny. The root was not developed. It was supposed to be in a 3 inch pot but it was a piece of cardboard instead. it died within a few days. I called several times but they never answered. They did not respond to email either.

I was really worried about the lengthy delivery time in transit but was very surprised and pleased to see two very healthy C. Gigantea well packaged in the tiny box. I feel that many of the negative reviews are due to growers who don’t have experience with this plant and equate it too heavily with C. Esculenta. This plant is NOT nearly as forgiving about constant moisture around the crown and will rot if you’re not careful. Also, if you take a young specimen out of the box it’s been in for a week, in total darkness, and plant it outside in direct sunlight ,without a gradual acclimation period, you will sun scald it to death. The Thai giant prefers dappled sunlight, rich and well drained soil, protection from wind, and a lot of nitrogen. These are awesome plants and if you do it right they will blow your mind with their growth potential. Have fun!

I'm usually a bit suspicious about ordering plants online, especially overseas, and especially especially for some of the less common species that are supposed to grow quite large. I waited a few months to review this item just to be sure it was accurate but it has been growing larger and larger and faster and faster, I'm so happy with my purchase. I received it and it had one leaf that was rather small, and already the eighth leaves that it's grown is nearly a meter long and the plant totals about 5 and 1/2 ft tall (3ish months later). I live in Miami and it loves the direct sunlight. It's in a pot and loves water but if you keep it indoors you have to make sure the water is quite minimal, you don't want it to be too wet but also not too dry. Definitely recommend this one to anyone looking for a large elephant ear. Thank you!

Wellspring Gardens was unknown to me as a live plant supplier, so I decided to give them the benefit and order from them. I ordered a Thai Giant Calocasia sp. and it arrived with moist soil, a support stake, a nice humidity bag, and great instructions in the unfortunate event that the plant arrived in less than ideal conditions. After purchasing this plant, I went to their website and bought 2 more plants. After purchasing one on here, the company gave me a code for a free plant which I used almost immediately. The plants that I bought also arrived perfect and well taken care of (Alocasia sp. and a Spathiphyllum sp.). 10/10 company
