No, this staple gun is not compatible with insulated cable staples. Surebonder does offer a TRIGGERFIRE cable tacker staple gun that is compatible with Surebonder #19 insulated staples. Easy to use for arthritis hands?

Yes, I have arthritis too and I can push it down to “cock it” and then when I’m ready just place in the spot I need and pull the easy pull trigger.

Will this go through 1/8" wood panel?

I've used it for that...but you need long staples to keep it in place.

can you put brad nails?

Yes, if you click on the 4th picture and enlarge it, you will see the printing on the bottom/side that shows it will take the Surebonder #8 brad nails and Surebonder #9 pin nails. These brad nails are also available by Arrow. With the gun upside down and the track open to your right, load the nails against the side that is closest to you and slide the track closed.
