Yeah, the description is unclear, but I think it depends on the color you choose. My Carbon Heather shirt is the same 60/40 blends as yours. I think the solid colors are 100% cotton

Solid colors such as Navy, Black, White, and Port are 100% cotton.

Q: How much different is the fit compared to the original?

Fit is fine. I have several carhartt shirts and none fit the same.
