Mines tag says "70% Wool, 30% Syn. Fibers" it appears to be recycled fibers as there are many different colors scattered throughout. From a distance the whole thing looks grey olive.

Is this warm enough for camping ?

It's plenty warm and is an excellent addition to one's camping gear. You'll find a use for it. I've only washed it twice in a top loaded washing machine using pods that have fabric softener. It's still soft enough to sleep upon and hasn't shed off much material. One of the best value blankets out there. I expect I'll be using this thing in some capacity until the day I die. {perhaps even after that}

Is this blanket heavy enough to make a muzzle loader gun case?

I purchased these blankets to help keep homeless people in my area warm! I have no idea about guns or gun cases. Sorry
