How easy is this to clean qnd dry?

Very easy.One slight twist,cap comes off- beware of the ball bearing rolling out!Soft cloth to wipe the metal ball and inside the cup - shaped end.Use corner of cloth to wipe inside the tube to remove any moisture.Ball back into cup,one half turn to secure.

Is this the new improved version

I was not aware there was a new version.

Why do you need a new one after a month??

This is not true. Logic should tell you that, at £30+ for each device, this would not be considered affordable if it had to be replaced each and every month. I have been using my device for several months now without problem. Just regular washing should keep it in a hygienic and serviceable condition.
