Fixed the Death Rattle
My washer started making a god-awful, very loud rattling sound (clack-clack-clack-clack) and would no longer spin. A few quick searches indicated that this part was the likely culprit, and it was delivered the next day. Installation was pretty straightforward after watching a YouTube video. The biggest challenge is getting the motor put back on and the support brackets in place, but it was overall no harder than any other appliance repair (which is to say, harder than the videos show, but doable). I'm a relatively handy person but this is definitely doable by a beginner. The part itself did not appear to be made by Kenmore/Whirlpool, but the metal inserts seem like they'll make the part last longer than the originals (since the problem was the original ones' plastic centers stripped out where the metal insert is located on the replacement). The OEM part was something like $40, but this one was about $7 including next-day delivery here in Northern California. We'll see how it lasts -- but the older, weaker part lasted about 20 years, so I think the part will likely outlive the washer.

Cheap fix for Agitation Issue
This part was just what I needed to fix my mid1980's Kenmore washer that wouldn't agitate. Research to make certain you are buying the right part for the right problem, but it wasn't hard to install.

Fixed my washer. Saved tons of money
These parts fixed my washer. Worth the cost to diagnose your issues and get the parts on Amazon if you can wait a few days. The cost of the parts far outweighs having to buy new washers. Took me less than an hour to fix it.
