Would regular stickers stick to the wood? Also what kind of markets work well?

Wood is unfinished so stickers should work, i didnt use markers but i would expect some color bleed. Might go with permanent sharpies myself.

What are the internal dimensions of the boxes?

Approximately 3 3/8 by 5 1/4. They fit 3x5 sized index cards great!
