More like fabric. Much stronger than the film type of stabilizer.

Q: Is this considered fibrous?

I don’t considered it to be fibrous it is thick. But washes away easily. Works great for free standing lace. I do plan to use it keep scraps of fabric together to sew over them and then wash the product away and hopefully have a solid piece of scrap fabric. Hope this is helpful

I do not have a laser printer. We used this to make free standing lace as Christmas gifts (ornaments) when we sent our cards

Perfect for Intricate Designs—Washes Away Clean!

This stabilizer has been a lifesaver for designs that are too detailed or delicate for tear-away. It rinses out cleanly and doesn’t leave behind any residue, which I was a little nervous about at first.It is on the thinner side—I do wish there was a thicker version, especially for high-stitch-count projects. But doubling up with two layers has worked well for me when needed. It’s also super easy to use—just cut and hoop like you would with any other stabilizer.
