These boots are amazing! So comfortable and definitely waterproof. No break in period and have great treads. Runs true to size.I wore them on a trip to Iceland and they kept me warm and dry.

Comfortable boot with nice detailing, but the jury is still out on quality..
Right out of the box these boots were extremely comfortable. I was quite pleased and am looking forward to hiking in them. Per comments in other reviews, I hope that they last and are durable.I did read through many of the reviews before purchasing these and was surprised that no one commented on the reflective strip in the back the sides and the top, which was one of the things that caught my attention first, but maybe that’s because I’m often out after dusk. I like how the back reflective ribbon strip can also be used as a hook to help you put on your boot. However, I can see why another reviewer thought that the tongue of the boot could be a little thicker and wider but I think I’m gonna have to log a few miles or several miles before I can adequately review that function.I did not need to put in my own arch support so far, though the insole that these boots come with are quite flimsy, so at some point that might be a good idea. I think it must be the design of the boot itself that is so comfortable and is unrelated to the “arch support” insert . But it is removable so it’s not a dealbreaker.Several people did mention the fabric part between the leather upper and the rubber bottom tore easily, and I could kind of see how that could happen, as well as comments about having issues with the adhesive between the boot upper and the bottom rubber traction part, coming unglued. Since I have not worn them outside yet, I don’t know how durable of a pair I received, but at the moment, because they are so comfortable for me, which is rare, I am going to try them out and keep them. After doing a thorough exam it appears, and I could be wrong, that rather than an issue of the quality of the workmanship involved with the shoes falling apart quickly, it could be more of an issue of the glue that they use and the type of adhesive. Bad batch? different manufacturer? You know, like vitamin companies... Quality of different manufacturers is quite discernible if you are sensitive to it.

Keep my feet blister free for Kilimanjaro
This was the 4th pair of boots I purchased for my Kilimanjaro hike. I initially didn't like them (not as stylish as my La Sportiva) but inserted them into my line up about 3 months before Kilimanjaro and fell in love with how comfortable (and dry!!) they kept my feet. I put about 65-75 miles on them before I headed to Tanzania. Loved these boots far more than my boots from Mammut and Merrell. La Sportiva was a good boot too but the toe box on these boots were more comfortable for my wider feet.Would recommend these Keens to anyone doing serious/consistent hiking. I tested them in stream crossings -- kept my feet dry. Tested them on rock scrambles -- kept me from slipping/falling. I actually loved their reliability so much that I donated them to the hardworking porters that were part of my hiking crew. Hope the boots serve a porter well as they help others summit the highest peak in Africa.

GREAT BOOT BUT WITH ONE MAJOR FLAW
i just went through quite a few hiking boots, and I choose 2 as my top choices. I want a mid-ankle boot that provides a lot of ankle support. Both the Keen Targhee 3 and the Merrill Moab 3 boots fit the bill. Here's the difference...the Keen Targhee was made better, had more foot padding and felt a bit more substantial. I had to put shoe stretchers in my Size 9 because I could feel the interior ribbing against my toes. After the stretch, it fit perfectly. (The size 9.5 was way too long!). Same with the Merrill's so it could just be the length of my foot. I choose the Keen Boots. I am very satisfied with my Keen boots...but there is a major problem. THE LACES ARE PRETTY BUT D**** WORTHLESS!!! The laces have too much polyester is them so they slip, and slip, and slip. Even surgeon's knots come untied. If you tie a regular shoe tie, the laces are untied in about 10 steps...every time!!! I have since ordered non-slip boot laces. So, I recommend these boots...but the manufacturer/designer puts laces on these boots that are for looks only! I would think that Keen would provide a non-slip lace with their well made boots - but they don't!! Check the reviews.

Keen boots are awesome on my foot, can wear them on a long hike right out of the box
I love Keen hiking boots, the foot last (shape of the boot) really works for me and I won't buy any other hiking boots anymore. I have 5 pairs of Keen hiking boots, and these are top notch quality just like my other ones. I bought these on sale I think because they were an older year model, who cares, I love them. I actually love the older model boots because more than likely I've already worn that boot and know what to expect. Love that vendors will put both new and older model Keen boots on Amazon; you can get amazing value that way. They run true to size for me, they have excellent slip resistance, grip on wet rock (be careful on wet wood in the Pacific Northwest of course), they're lightweight, waterproof, but breath pretty well in the summer on my foot.
