Perfect for complete beginners.
I bought this book so I could teach my own children. So simple and clear. After just few months they could actually play the piano.

Not really what I expected
This tutor book has a more complicated method of teaching. Not sure if I will use it for a first piano tutor book.

Fabulous fun
This charming and entertaining tutorial for very young piano players was recommended to me by my son in law, a fine pianist himself, he ordered this book for my granddaughter. Having seen my 4 year old granddaughter, singing 'Hey, hey look at me' while her dad played the notes, I was inspired to buy a copy for myself, a less able but keen pianist, I can now play along with Madeleine on skype! A highly delighted granny.

perfect for little learners
As a teacher I find this an excellent book to begin with young pupils. Packed with great tunes (I don't understand a one star review on here that suggest it's lacking in tunes) and a great resource for teaching reading. highly recommended - having completed this book, even younger pupils fly when they move on to Get Set tutor book 1

Superb - Pre-note reading tutor
I've used this book before Get Set! Tutor 1 and found children make so much faster progress. Having the note names provided worked so much better than I though it would. I was sceptical but I am now a total covert. 5 children now have learnt so much faster note reading using this approach.

A cute little book
A cute little book that’s fun. It has lots of pictures and little stories that would be fun for a reception class aged child. I would use a different resource for children aged 7 and older.

Brilliant
This book is great for young beginners and introduces them to musicality before launching into any sort of note reading. The notation when it begins is big and easy to read and doesn't start with notes on the stave. The book also gets children exploring improvisation, story telling with music, dynamics, tempo and articulation right from the start in easy child friendly language with fun characters from music town. Karen Marshall is a highly skilled teacher and writer.

Not in same league as others in the series
I have been using the other books in this series and they are superbly well designed, encouraging the beginner to develop sight reading skills and equal dexterity with each hand. The system also teaches them to listen to what they are playing so they develop a musical ear. This book seems weirdly out of synch with that, teaching the use of musical symbols that a child will have to unlearn or will find confusing when confronted with actual music. I’ve used the main tutor books with children as young as three, and they are learning to read music before they can read words. This book is not one I can ever use in that way. Stick with the main tutor books: the more I use those the more I respect the thought and experience that has gone into them.
