Ohh I love this Remo ET-0212-10 Ocen Drum SOOOO much. It really does sound like the sea. I had never heard of an ocean drum and saw this exact one played on You Tube and knew it was the one for me. I had seen the plain version elsewhere but the tropical fish design really appeals. There are differences in tone depending if you swish the beads around on the printed side which is a little softer and quieter then if you play on the clear side of the drum, the sea sounds are mush louder, like a firece storm crashing waves.i've found the trick is to let the beads slide slowly from one side to the other then at the last moment turn this to a circular movement, that way the sound gradually fades so you can do this repeatedly for a more realistic waves sound. Going from side to side works, but there is the sudden stop point n the obvious first few beads hitting the edge, the circular swish softens the edge of the sound.The description said the drum comes with a beater, mine did not. To use as a drum, being just 10" in size makes for a high pitched drum. But I wanted this mostly for the sounds of the sea, which you achieve by letting the beads move around inside the drum.FOr those with limited dexterity and I am one of those the drum itself is quite light but works very well if you need to rest it on your lap and get the beads moving by moving your feet up to tip toes, not even off the floor, to change the angle of the drum on your lap.It is quite loud, but the printed side gives a gentler sound. It is also VERY soothing great for de stressing and to use at the start of meditation to clear busy thoughts. I have anxiety and found it useful to go sit somewhere n just swish this around to calm a buy mind and think of the seashore. very calming.If you are stressed, love the sound of the seaside but want the option of a dynamic sound YOU create rather than an app, this is for you.

My sound baths members love the ocean drum, my old one was broken so went for this pretty design. Looks and sound good.

A very versatile ocean drum. Perfect for use in small spaces, one-to-one sound healing sessions and also for group sound baths where you want to create a sound that is more relaxing rather than triggering. I thoroughly recommend getting this drum.The Remo Night Waves Ocean Drum is quieter, softer and less crashy than a typical ocean drum, which makes it great for people who are hypersensitive to sound. In a one-to-one capacity in a small healing space, it prevents overwhelming the client with too much volume.The two sides of the drum create different sounds: one side is padded with sound dampening material so it creates a softer and slightly muffled sound, while the other side is louder, crisper and more vibrant. Playing with the contrast creates great dynamics as you can shake and flip the drum over so it goes from the soft to crisp or vice versa.It's worth watching Remo's YouTube video to get an idea how to play it. This drum is a bit more difficult to play insofar as you can't see the little balls through one side of the drum like on a typical ocean drum, so you don't know exactly how many balls you have left in a tilt before you run out of whoosh! It takes some practice to play it by feel without awkward pauses when you run out of balls mid flow. I've found the best way around this is using the kinetic energy of your body's own movement to ensure there is always movement in the drum. It becomes a bit like a dance and the sounds it creates is absolutely mesmerising.Feedback from clients is that the sounds are very relaxing and it feels very cleansing when the drum is played through their energy field.

This is a great sized ocean drum that has a beautiful sound and a joy to hold. Recommended wholeheartedly.

This is a wonderful ocean drum. Very hypnotic, relaxing, powerful and versatile. It's used mostly in Yoga classes and the pupils just love it. Exactly what was hoped for. I'd strong recommend a buyer invests another 40-odd quid on a Meinl cover and carrying case. The drum is a musical instrument and is not built for being left around the house, or transported in a car, unprotected. Would recommend Remo's ocean drums to everyone.

I’d heard it before and bought it as a present. They loved it! Might be a bit noisy in a very small room as the Ocean waves roll around !
