Great & Accurate Product
Don’t listen to any reviews that say this measuring tape is off by 2”. Anyone saying that does not know how to use it. This is a measuring tape for SELF-measuring your own body. The end of the tape that you pull out is a cylinder & there is a little round hole that is opposite of where the measuring tape comes out at. You pull out & wrap the tape around you like you would any other, then slide the cylinder end of the tape down into the little round hole that it’s made for. Then press the little button in top which makes the tape pull back in until it is around you - then it locks in place. Then slide the little cylinder back out & since the tape is still locked into place, you can read the measurement accurately. The nearly 2” that the tape starts out with accounts for the width of the actual tool between the cylinder end coming out one side & the little round hole that it slides down into (after it’s around you) on the other. This way you don’t have to try to stand straight & get & keep the tape accurately in place while you look down & try to accurately read the measurement without moving it.

MyoTape: Because Sucking In Doesn’t Fool the Tape
Thought I was in shape until this little honesty machine showed up. MyoTape doesn’t sugarcoat anything—it’s like a brutally honest friend that wraps around your biceps and whispers, “Maybe tomorrow, champ.”That said, it works great! Easy one-handed operation, retractable tape, and the locking mechanism means you don’t have to wrestle it like a snake every time you want to measure something. I use it for tracking gains at the gym, and also occasionally for humbling myself after pizza night.Bonus: My kids now think I’m a scientist measuring my “super strength.” Who am I to ruin the illusion?Highly recommend—just don’t be surprised if it calls you out

Great for Tracking Weight Loss
One challenge we have when we lose weight is that sometimes it might look like we've hit a plateau. Really, this usually means the body is slimming down but as we convert from fat to muscle we aren't "loosing weight" at the moment. A tape measure can help show this!I've used several different kinds of tape measures in the past. Usually the problem is you're trying to hold the two ends of the tape measure in place while figuring out what they say. Often I have to call in my boyfriend to help out. For a variety of reasons there are many people who cannot or do not want help in this area :)That's where the MyoTape tape measure comes in. I actually got this for myself solely because I had lost my old tape measures and needed one, and it was the top result on Amazon and looked easy to use. So I wasn't out seeking a "new and improved" tape measure. That being said, when I got this in the house I was really impressed that it WAS much easier to use than my previous ones. You hold the handle, which is nice and solid and well shaped to grab onto. Then if you want you can "make the loop" and step into it, or pull the loose end around, depending on what part of you you are measuring. But the nice thing is you can keep everything loose while you get it into place.Once you are close to where you want it to be, you push the button on the unit and it automatically snugs up. So you don't have to try to hold it in a certain spot or try to make sure you're holding it "tightly enough" or "loose enough". It always snugs up to the same level of tension. You only need to hold with one hand because the unit has connected into its closed loop. This means it's VERY easy to then look at the numbers and see what the total measurement is. You don't have to add or subtract - the unit is set up so that the number you see is the total number.Well recommended! There are ALL sorts of situations where you "seem to be not losing weight" but really your body is getting slimmer. This is a great way to keep track of your progress!

5-star product but reduced to 4 stars
I owned one of these a number of years ago when I lived in another country. It worked very well and lasted a number of years so I recently purchased one as I had no longer possession of the prior one.It worked well (as expected) for about 7-8 months until the tape itself ripped as I hope the picture on the review shows.Having used it 1-2 times a week for perhaps 2-3 measurements each time, it’s a bit disappointing to have it rip so quickly. To be fair, letting it “snap”back after use may have contributed to its demise, but my other one had no issues with it. Therefore the material may have changed and not be as sturdy now.Having said all this, I will say that I’ll be buying another one soon. Hopefully this one will last longer.
