Great tava and easy to maintain
I had this on my wishlist for some time and am very happy I got it. I was using an electric griddle to make dosas which works fine but can be a little difficult to clean. This tava is much easier to use and clean up. The dosas turn out great. I have not yet used it fr anything else, but I am sure it will work fine for other purposes as well.

worth it for making dosa
Perfect size for making dosa or pancake. This pan is worth it. Initially it may smell for the first use , but later it will be fine. no stickiness at all. easy to clean with the provided scrubber. works well. heat distributes well, but better to cook on medium settinģ on electric stove

Perfect for Dosas - from somebody who has experimented with a few
This product is phenomenal for Dosas!! Yes!, I know it's only a pan but I have to tell you that this is the best one that we have used. I have been on a quest to make the perfect masala dosa recently and I bought the lodge (10-11inch) cast iron pan followed by another cast iron which was 14 inch and they are good but every once in a while the dosa will get stuck and you need to spend time seasoning them. What I like about this pan1. Size - Great size for great dosas ;). 13 inch which perfect2. Thickness - The pan is thicker than most other non-stick pans I have seen and maintains heat well3. Non stick coating - Excellent. The dosas literally float off the pan! Slight exaggeration but you'll see! ;)Hope this helped. Don't thick twice. I have seen some reviews about the bottom not being flat which was a problem for some. We use gas and this was not an issue for us.

Nonstick coating wore off in six months!
- I bought two of these at the same time, and use both about twice a week. I am very careful with the pans. I only wipe them off while they are still hot. I rarely wash them in water.*** Six months later, the nonstick coating of BOTH pans wore off (see the pic I added to this review)***- EXTREMELY overpriced for such cheap quality. I thought they would be great because they are quite heavy, but with such a bad coating, the weight doesn't matter- there is no rim, which is not ideal for runny batter like rava dosa, and also doesn't work if you like to make larger dosas- it is slightly curved. It does not sit flat on the stove, so if you have a smooth top range, this might not be the one for you

Great Comal Replacement
My old flat pan (Comal) used for warming up tortillas and making some other things finally got replaced by this new one. I looked long and hard and finally settled on this one. I'm glad I did some looking at the reviews before buying another. There are so many options, and even some that pose using the term 'Comal'. But they are not. This product was not cheap aluminum piece of metal coated with Teflon. It is very solid and distributes heat really well. I use it now all the time and love that I don’t see how it can possibly warp…ever. Looking forward to many years of usage. Excellent.

Will be good for omelets
This pan is very well constructed. Comes with an Indian cookbook that tells you how to make dosas, etc. Will be good for omelets, crepes, etc. also. However, the bottom of the pan is slightly convex, not flat. I have a flat glass top stove and there is a gap of almost 1/4 inch between the circumference of the pan and the stove top and except of its center, the pan does not touch the stove top. I think it will work fine on a gas stove and possibly on an electric coil stove. I am returning mine without using it and have ordered another brand with a flat bottom.
