The description says, "They offer a holding strength of up to 40 lb. in 1/2 in. drywall". Is this the same for hollow core doors?

I used it to hang an iron/ironing board hanger on the back of a hollow core door. It holds very well.

Will these hold door hinges on a hollow core door?

put a little epoxy under the hinge when you install it... that's what I do with my hollow core doors and have not had one get loose yet.

Can these be used on Composite (plastic) hollow doors? I want to mount a rack on my bathroom door. Thanks

Yes. That is what they are for. However, I would not overdo the weight that is put on the attachments. I have hung tie racks and clothes hooks on composite hollow doors.

Can i use these to add a shelf to a flakeboard desk?

The anchors are 3/4" and the screws are 1-1/4". Hopefully it does not penetrate the other side of the board. With drywall and hollow core doors , there is no need to drill. I personally would drill a pilot hole. Depending on the density and glue of the board, it may work but I'm afraid it will pull out and damage the veneer. You may want to buy dowels and the stud & cam locks that IKEA uses.
