BEST OVERALL MIC FOR RECORDINGS!!! (Recordings and even YOUTUBE!)
As a home recording artist, this mic definitely met my needs. For the longest time, I've owned the AKG Perception 120 (the old model), and I've never had a problem with this mic. The main reason to why I bought the P220 was so I can change my setup to have one mic for recording vocals (the P220) and the other mic for recording YouTube videos (Perception 120). The shock mount for the P220 is being used for the Perception 120, and it fits the mic perfectly. Both mics are basically the same size, so I figured that it would work. The build quality on the P220 is rugged and tough, and the functions are very simple. You have 2 main settings: the bass roll off, which is great if you want to record without having to deal with any unnecessary low end frequency that the mic picks up. The other setting cuts off the signal by 20db. From my experience, it's best use is if you have a noisy background, and you don't want that to bleed into the mic. It basically isolates the signal to only be heard right in front of the mic as opposed to everything in the environment. I would be lying if I said that were some things I don't like about it (because I simply LOVE AKG products) but for other people, this might be too simple of a mic compared to other more expensive mics. The sound of this mic is warmer and more direct than the AKG Perception 120, so I felt that it was better for recording vocals. However, the Perception 120 still crushes it in the studio. Some people might consider a different taste in sound compared to other mics, but for me, this mic suits my needs perfectly. The AKG Perception 120: AKG Perception P120 Professional Studio Microphone, SliverSo, here are my pros and cons:PROS:- inexpensive- simple settings- versatile (vocals, guitar, etc.)- ruggedCONS (possible opinions of others):- too cheap- too simple (not enough settings)- not preferred taste of sound- too heavy

Great mic
Performed a little test with this mic. Based on the good reviews and sale price, I figured this might make a good mic for vocal work or at least stringed instruments. I’m happy to report that it fits the bill nicely. Compared to an AT 2035, the sound is more warm, with less character in the mid range at 430 hz to about 900. I think the only thing was a loss of clarity in the 5 kHz range comparatively. Turns out that works very well for baritone ranged singers. I’ll keep the AT 2035 on my tenor and alto singers. At this price range it is tough to find something with a perfectly flat response without some coloring, but it’s really about finding the cheap mics with the right color (frequency response curves) that fit your application. In this case I’d say this is good for male singers with deeper voices, or acoustic instruments in the viola or cello range. I haven’t tried yet, but a medium-low brass might be complimented well here too.Overall, it’s hefty, has the right voicing stage to be useful for vocal singing and voice-over, and fits a budget anyone can afford. For a project studio on a reasonable budget, I think you will be satisfied.

Worth every penny and out competes higher dollar microphones
As a hobby level musician who likes to just generate ideas/demo type music, this is one of the most solid microphones I've ever had. I've had mics that cost 3x as much not give the results this one does. I've recorded acoustic guitars, vocals (singing and speaking), highway or outside sounds (birds, cars going by, rain, etc) and this microphone knocks it out of the park. Even recommended one to a friend who had a more expensive condenser type mic. He immediately recorded with it and was like, "Worth every penny." Couldn't agree more. Even if you have higher dollar type mics, buy a couple of these for backup. You won't be disappointed.

Love this product and you will too!
The media could not be loaded. Love it! Looks great and sounds amazing using my makie Onyx 2v2 Preamp box! Love how it came with all attachments nessasary to set up with my mic arm stand. Definitely worth the money and great for many types of mediums. Great audio clarity and vocal pickups. Sensitivity is designed for orchestras and instruments so use with low audio input when vocal recording. Solid metal frame maker it very durable.

Great for home studio recording and acoustic instruments
This is my first small condenser mic so of course I think it’s the best I’ve ever had but I do know good quality mics from bad ones because of my experience with dynamics and LDCs of different qualities and manufacturers.I bought a pair of these to use as a matched pair and even though they’re not technically matched they perform great in a stereo array.Very low noise, great rejection from behind, and durable construction.Alone or as a pair these mics sound great on acoustic guitars.I’m no pro studio engineer. I’m just a guy who’s got a small home studio in a spare bedroom and these mics are great for my purposes. More than great. They make acoustic instruments sound amazing just like you hear them in the room thanks to their flat response and the 10dB pad is cool for when you want to mic an amp or drums. I recommend trying one of these with the pad on an amp. It gives electric guitar a different sound than you get from something like an SM57.I would recommend this mic to someone on a budget in a home studio situation. If you go cheaper you’re going to get poor quality and have to upgrade your mic sooner rather than later. Of course there are more expensive SDCs and they’ll be better but I think this AKG is at the point where quality is great and spending more isn’t going to give you huge returns in terms of quality.

Absolutely amazing
I feel like this mic is underrated. It sounds good for both singing and talking purposes. (I think it's more for singing purposes). My only issue was that sometimes it would clip when screaming or just having the volume past a certain point. Also if you have a deep voice it might not work too well for you, I think it honestly just depends on the voice. Brighter voice probably work best for this mic.

Amazing Mic - Sounds great
It is a studio level mic as they say. With proper setup, its viable for streaming or casual at home setup.
