Confession: I have mounted exactly ZERO of these on my dashboard. But I really do have at least twenty of them.I pick the glue-tape off of the base, and then superglue the base to a 1/4"-20 thumb nut, the kind used for mounting photography gear. That way I can screw a magnet mount onto any 1/4"-20 attachment point on a tripod, cheese plate, boom, or whatever.In the photo: my Coolpow magnet mount, superglued to a thumb nut, has been screwed onto a "cheese plate" (so named because it has lots of holes) which is affixed to a swinging boom in my workspace. This is where I park my phone when I'm working at my tablet (which is also on the boom, but not shown in the close-up.)The ball joint is stiff enough to maintain its position, even with a big phone attached to it. I used two of these to build a rig that let me mount a keyboard on a boom, and I was able to type just fine withouut things moving around.I've owned some off-brand versions of this, but the build quality of Coolpow is worth the extra couple of dollars. The rubber shield stays put, even though the magnets pull *really* hard against whatever ferrous surface you slap them up against. And despite the strength of the magnets you can still slide your device off pretty easily, just using one hand.The ferrous plate is probably not compatible with most induction phone chargers, but I don't use one of those so I don't mind. This design is compact, and pretty much perfect.(Hey, Coolpow! If you build one of these with a 1/4"-20 nut on it instead of a sticky-pad you'll save me some time, and your amazing little device will be instantly compatible with literally *every* photography tripod out there.)

This is exactly what I was looking for. Super sturdy and string adhesive. Instead of waiting 72 hrs (as instructed in the manual) I was impatient and used it right away and it feels very strong and gets the job done. I love that it gives wide range of tilts. My car does have a lot of space on my dashboard so this was absolutely perfect for my car. Very strong magnet.To be fair... i didn't use the metal plates it came with. Instead I used a different circular one that would fit perfectly (because I didn't want the metal plate covering 30% of my phone.)

Semi driver here. Phones have not fallen once. Applied magnetic sticky part to a smooth surface, has held up since application. Be sure u plan where u want it before application. Im certain the stickiness is a one time application.

Super easy to install and the magnet is very strong — holds my iPhone in place even on bumpy roads. Love that it comes with 2 holders and 4 metal plates so both my car and my daughter’s are set up. Low-profile and doesn’t clutter the dash. Only downside is it’s not as strong with really thick cases, but overall a great value.

I have tried several different iPhone holders for my car, all of which were highly rated by reviewers. None of them worked for the purposes of holding my phone securely, allowing easy attachment and detachment, or remaining in place once adjusted/tightened. All ended up in the trash.This is the simplest, most effective, and reliable holder I have ever used. The phone stays securely attached and can be easily adjusted from horizontal to vertical positions. It's also easily detached and remains securely attached to my dashboard. Unlike other holders that use a clamping system, this one doesn't require a specific area to clamp onto. Its small adhesive area and compact design allow for its placement almost anywhere on the dash/window. I even have one on my golf cart.My one recommendation: Place the magnet on the phone back in an area that won't interfere with chargers that the phone lies on.

When i used to deliver for amazon, these were the mounts everyone in my dsp loved to hold our work devices which are just cell phones. This coolpow brand has the strongest magnets so your device won't fall when hitting a pothole. There's some brands that have the same design and look exactly the same but the magnets inside are weaker.

This was great as it came with 2 so one went to my wife and one went to me. This is 2 reviews in one, mine and my wife. After 2 years of using them we have drastically different opinions.Mine:It held my phone in any direction I put. My phone only fell off once and that was because it slipped out of my hand when I was trying to pull it of the magnet. My pop socket did wear out excessively fast and went through 3 of them in 2 years. Then finally after 2 years the screw inside came loose and it would no longer stay in place so I had to replace it.Wife's review:It was great at first but after 6 months it kept falling off. We replaced the sticky pad on the back then it fell off after a couple of months. Replaced it again and moved it to a different location. Lasted about 6 months before it kept falling off. Replaced the pad again and moved it to an even more flat surface. Lasted a month before she just gave up having one.

Seems to be working well. Prep surface and stick it on, wait several days before use, magnets seem strong enough.Easy to install, magnets strong.
