According to this article from a scientific journal, they have minimal effect on the adult bees, and if the odd adult bee does get infected at a nectar source and bring it back to the hive, the infection does not readily spread to the brood in the hive. Yes these will work, but you need to apply then in the wet season as they will die immediately in the heat of summer
