Highly recommend.
I really like this!Purchased to keep the dogs out of where they don't belong.I like the extra height.Best for tall, older people, so bending isn't needed.Easier to put together with a drill. The lift, after the gate latch is released, can be a challenge.Just make sure the bottom of the opening side isn't placed to fit all the way in.I didn't like the directions, but I can build via pictures, and rocked that out in no time.Use the spacer as you deem for height, due to door handle placement.I'll be purchasing 1 or 2 more!

Great buy!
Exactly what we were looking for. The first gate we bought and put at the top of our staircase had a bar across the bottom of it and it was terrifying stepping over it and down to the first step. That one also had panels on the sides making the opening you walk through smaller. We like how wide this opens - it’s like it isn’t even there because it goes flat against the wall and there are no objects obstructing the path. Great buy!

Does what it sets out to do, but a couple of minor issues
I've been using this for about 3 months now and am overall pleased. I'm using it as a gate for the stairs that lead to my front door (I live in a split level) to prevent my dog from dashing out the front door and it's worked well so far. I like that it is adjustable and extends across the entire width of the stair opening (as opposed to other gates that have side-panels and a narrower opening in the middle) and that there is no bar at the bottom (trip hazard). There are a couple of areas for improvement:1) Opening the gate is a rather fussy process. You have to press down and then pull up and then swing it open. I still find myself unintentionally yanking harder than is necessary, because otherwise you risk not unlatching it cleanly. I'm not sure why it can't be a simpler design as in other gates where you just press down on the button to unlatch. Maybe that wouldn't be stable enough for a one-piece design such as this, I don't know, but it's a bit annoying.2) Partly due to issue #1 (having to yank on the gate to get it open), if you install this into drywall the included drywall screws/anchors are pretty useless. I used them the first few weeks and they came loose every few days, causing the gate to subtly separate from the wall and thus not shut until I re-tightened the screws. I finally just ordered some drywall toggles and once I installed those the problem was essentially solved. They should absolutely be included with the gate.So it's not perfect, but overall I'm satisfied.

Great well built gates.
Fantastic gates. I purchased 3 of these for our deck around our house in GA. They are definitely child proof and dog proof. Sometimes even people proof. You must pull up on the gate to release it. As long as you know to do that it opens easily--if not--someone could be there a while before figuring it out.Quality is excellent. Very sturdy for their weight and size. I highly recommend them. Although, ask me again after next winter. I have nonidea how the weather will affect them. I believe they will last many years.

The Better Doggy Forcefield!
Yes! Major upgrade! I had a tension based one for the longest time, and it had its good and bad features. This one is much easier to maintain, allows for use of the full width of the doorway, and since it's mounted with three or so inches of clearance at the bottom, my roomba can pass through but my hounds can't!

Awesome gate!
This gate is exactly what I needed to keep out my new puppy it works perfectly. It is so well made, I could not be any happier. My new puppy could climb right over my old gate with the design on that gate and this one he has nothing to climb as it is straight up and down. I had my handyman install this gate and it took him no time at all. Love it!

good gate; support not great
I may have a tip for people who find that the need to lift the gate makes opening it too difficult. Our gate didn't need to be lifted, and i think this was because our lower latch (part "D" in the manual) wasn't lined up correctly and the gate stopped short of it (i.e. the nub wasn't entering the latch). It worked out great for us, but it should be noted that the dog we were containing wasn't apt to push on the gate, so your results may vary. This gate served us well. It was narrow enough to fit our tiny stairwell, and my elderly mother found it easy to deal with. I didn't care for the ugly warning stickers that couldn't be removed from one of the bars. Okay, i get it: you don't wanna get sued. But how many times you think people are gonna read that thing? every time they pass by?A couple weeks ago, i had an experience with Babelio customer service that left a bad taste in my mouth... small disclaimer, it began with a mistake on my part: i was convinced (erroneously) that this gate could be lifted off its hinges for storage. Not sure how i got there. Doesn't matter.I wrote to the support address from the user manual to ask for some instructions or tips for lifting the gate off its hinges. In response, they asked me to send them "some videos showing the problem." I found this request way out of line. Almost creepy. I only asked for instructions, why would they need videos of me pulling on the gate before telling me how to do it correctly??? I was both unable and unwilling to make them a movie, so instead i tried to phrase my request more clearly in case they'd just misunderstood me. I've been waiting 12 days for a reply.Yesterday, i brought in the handyman who installed the gate to help me; he told me the hinge is attached to the gate, so tools would be required for its removal. Babelio support could have just told me that instead of demanding home movies & then ignoring me. Seriously, how hard would it have been to write something like "the reason you're unable to lift the gate off its hinges is that it's not designed to do that." Even if they'd called me or my question "stupid," it still would've been better.Oh, and i know you've already guessed this, but my photos are of the damage caused by installing (and then uninstalling) the hardware. The chipped paint along the corner of the doorframe, the ugly wallpaper, and the dirty carpet were already present before installation and cannot be blamed on the gate ;)
