When purchasing this product would you need to also puchase vitamin D for the absorbency?

yes, you want to be sure to take the gel caps of Vit D 3.. 1000 mg is good or even 2000 mg. You might also want to take some magnesium caps because that will also help with 1: constipation from the calcium and 2: absorption of the calcium. Some people add in Borin and Vit K ... and that's good too for absorption . but the first three items are good to do the job.. remember to split the calcium into 500 mg or 600 mg sections. so depending on your age you take it 2 or 3 time a day. your body can only absorb 500 to 600 mg each serving. I buy many products from Bulk supp and have had good results with them. This product comes from China and that concerns some. The company does lists a lot of information about the product but I'm not sure how you can prove any of the information without your own lab analysis. At the same time there is no real way you can know absolutely what is in any product.
