There is nothing worse than cheap wasabi, like that found in bad sushi restaurants. Bad wine gives you a headache. Bad Wasabi is grainy, bitter and feels like a spike is penetrating your sinus. It does nothing for the fish. TAKE HEART! Good wine, like good wasabi has a delicate finish. It still has the punch, but like a good wine it doesn't insult you. Genuine wasabi grows very well in Natural New New Zealand. Wasabi is a very fussy plant and New Zealand is very fortunate to have a few places where the plant does well. That said, this is manufacturer that is a very small producer, with constant challenges, but still produces the FINEST wasabi in the world; the best you have ever tasted. This is genuine wasabi which, as far as we know, is the the only authentic wasabi paste in the world, using only freshly harvested raw wasabi rhizome.We add a little lemon juice, grape seed oil, citric acid and a smidgen of salt. Real Wasabi!
Delicious! I love this wasabi it has the right amount of lovely heat without the, almost nose-bleeding, properties of the horseradish/mustard blend alternatives, which have very little pure wasabi in them. It was impossible to find a pure wasabi in the UK but this arrived very promptly. You only need a small amount so this little jar will last a long time in the fridge. :)
