Q: Do I have to re-hydrate these to unlock the spice? I ate 4 whole ones as is and it was not spicy at all, maybe raw serrano level of spice.

I ordered them three times. The first time they were very spicy, blistering even. The last two times, habanero and Serrano respectively. To answer your question, I did not rehydrate them. I simply put them in my dedicated chili grinder.

They do, but they do not germinate.

Q: Does this product being a dried version rather than a fresh version mean it's spicier/hotter, or would a fresh peper be spicier?

I found out that it contains the same amount of capsaicin, so for the same weight, it should be spicier/the same.

i crushed mine up like the red peppers from a pizza place . and trust me you dont need a lot, this pepper will make you throw up. so just make sure you have a lot of milk.
