This reasonably priced set of artificial candles seemed great value. They work brilliantly and if you purchase Amazon's special deal AA batteries it works out very economical.Edit. I just tried to use them - I have over 30 - and found none worked BECAUSE they are always on standby so the batteries have drained even though the candles were not lit. My advice is take the batteries out if they are not to be used regularly.

Love these candles, I use them where it's not safe to have a naked flame and they look really good. Battery life is good.

Great value for money, especially love the remote control.Very realistic.

Will never quite match the real thing but these come close! Much more convenient and easy to use, probably cheaper running costs, especially if you get a good deal on batteries, though I haven't assessed this in detail. Uses cost-effective and readily available AA batteries. No worries about fire risk, smoke marks or dripping wax. As other reviews commented, can just about see the batteries inside the candles in certain lighting conditions but not at all obvious. Good solution for events in venues that prohibit the use of real candles.

I previously ordered these for my daughter and myself. My friend was very impressed with the quality and effects . Her birthday is coming up in November so I bought her a set as a present. I love these candles when lit they make the room homely and cosy and creates a beautiful ambiance. I would recommend them.

I ordered two packs of eight each pack had two in each that did not work on remote. Apart from that they look ok and realistic.

I bought these candles to add to my Halloween decorations this year. They are very realistic looking and created a wonderful ambiance when lit at night... as a matter of fact, they looked so nice that I decided to keep them up for my Thanksgiving decor as well. The remote works very well even from a distance and the timer function is an added bonus so I don't have to turn them on and off each day. They operate on 2 AA batteries each and are still burning at full strength even though I've had them on for 6 hours each night continuously since the middle of October and it's now the end of November. Highly recommend!!!

I love these candles. I bought them to replace similar candles that finally wore out after 10 years of continuous use. The technology has come a long way: my new candles look more real, they take two batteries each instead of one but those batteries last for what seems like a thousand years! Or at least a few months! My original candles lasted for about 3 days; I recharged the batteries routinely twice a week. The new ones are brighter, too.But it's the customer service that's even brighter. I had so much trouble with my first order of these candles. I don't know what was wrong -- made on the wrong day of the week maybe. The remote stopped working almost at once, the candles weren't responding to the remote, and even when they did, they just turned on and off whenever they felt like it. I could not get them working right. The people at Mavandes had never had this problem with the remote before and they had lots of suggestions about how to fix it. You will recognize of course that the real point is that they RESPONDED to me! You know that doesn't happen every day of the week! And in the end they sent me a whole new set of candles and they work perfectly. They're bright, they're realistic, they turn on and off at the same time every day.And they're on sale! Buy them. You won't regret it.

The media could not be loaded. I wasn't expecting to like these that much, but I do! They look great for fake candles with the waxy texture, and I appreciate that you can use a push button on the bottom of each candle if you don't want to use the remote. Of course they look a bit fake when they're not turned on because of the white plastic "flame" but they're honestly pretty convincing when they're on. There are a couple different lighting modes, plus a few timer options. I'm not a big review writer but felt compelled to leave one for these candles because I like them so much. Real tapers run out so quickly so this is a great alternative, especially with rechargeable batteries.
