Best blank media money can buy
Professionals know that different brands of blank media have different levels of quality. Taiyo Yuden (a JVC company) is the best media you can buy. You can reliably burn disks at much higher speeds without worry that you'll end up with a bad burn or glitchy copy. This is the media that professional companies use. In fact many of the DVD movies or games that you buy in the store are burned using this media.Be aware that this package doesn't come with a spindle or case to hold it. It's just 100 shrink-wrapped discs in one tall tower. It's made to be inserted into enterprise-level burning machines with automatic feeders. The label side is blank white and accepts a sharpie easily. This media costs more than some budget companies but the quality is worth it. You won't waste your time burning a disk only to end up with a bad burn and wasted disk if you buy this media.

Great DVDs, Great Price, Great Quality
As a wedding photographer, delivering photos in an archival manner to customers is a critical component of my business and these discs have exceeded my expectations. The main selling point for me was the matte white coating on the top of the disc which is inkjet printable. Even though I don't print directly on the disc, these discs look absolutely beautiful when I apply printed labels to them and my clients have commented that they love the "look" of the final product. If you want a high quality and affordable alternative to discs such as Memorex and HP, these Taiyo Yuden discs are the way to go!

some changes, Still the Best !
I have burned literally thousands of these discs over the years, NEVER a failed burn ... as of the last couple years, the company has changed ownership, and production moved from Japan, to Taiwan ... 'Powered by TY' refers to the original Taiyo-Yuden inventor and manufacturer ... as far as I can tell, these are the same top quality as the older discs, however, I have noticed they have dialed back their recommended burning speeds a bit (from 18x 16x, and suggested 8x to be safe) ... at any rate, so far, so good, these are probably still the best ones made, I'm still buying them ...

Reliable
Product was received promptly and works without a flaw. Good speed no coasters. I have messed with other brands that we more convenient to purchase (local pick up), but have been disappointed every time.

Fantastic DVDs
I've used about 60 of these so far and have had a 100% success rate burning at 8x or 16x. So far, no coasters at all. As for the print surface, I would describe it as "good, but not great". Using an Epson Artisan 710 to print with, the resulting printed disk is nowhere near photo quality, but it's good enough for most purposes. These have a matte finish, though I would have preferred glossy in retrospect.

Taiyo Yuden DVD's
I have used Taiyo Yuden DVD's for several years and have had very good luck with them. When I received this batch the first four blank DVD's I used did not work. These DVD's had a JVC label on them and at first I thought I had been sent the wrong product, but later I discovered that the DVD's had been made by Taiyo Yuden for JVC. I have contacted the supplier, Linkyo Exprss, about this problem and so far I have not heard from them. Amazon has assured me that they will stand behind the product, but it has been over two weeks and I still have not heard a word from Linkyo Express.

Pure Quality
I recently made my second purchase of these DVD discs. The quality of Taiyo Yuden is better than anything else I have tried. Sony discs have also worked well, but it is not easy to find them with the white inkjet printable surface. I don't actually use them with a printer but I find that it's so much easier to write on them with a sharpie pen than the normal discs which have a shiny silver coating and is cluttered with their logo, etc. I will continue to buy these as long as the price is right. The only drawback I find is that these discs come enclosed in a clear plastic wrapper, rather than a hard covered spindle case.

Not the best for video recorders
I purchased these disks after reading the many favorable reviews for them. My main concern was the longevity of the disks, and hopefully they will prove to last as long as people seem to believe they will. We have a number of old VHS tapes of family videos that I'd wanted to burn to DVD. The disks take much longer to be recognized by our video burner (a Samsung DVD/VHS unit) than other DVD+R media we've used in the past, and once burned, there's an odd "chirp" noise that we hear coming from the unit during playback of the disks. As I mentioned, our main concern was the longevity of the disks -- so if they last for 30 years, I'll consider the chirping a worthwhile trade-off. I would have hoped/expected, however, that the read/playback experience would be at least on par with other, cheaper media we've used in the past, and that is not the case.
