Nevertheless, from everything I have seen and read, it appears to be an excellent, forged tool with a very useful set of features.

How is thread damage prevented if the screw cutters aren't threaded? Anyone have experience cutting lots of screw with it?

You cut the screws at an angle. This keeps this from getting burred up.
