Becoming a Contagious Christian: Six Sessions on Communicating Your Faith in a Style That Fits You (Participant's Guide) Paperback – February 11, 2007

The new edition was missing a few chapters that were in the older edition.

Probably as easy and helpful an evangelism course as I have found. YES, it's now really getting old, but nothing new seems to have stepped up to this level of effectiveness. I have not used the new "Making Your Case for Christ" material from Lee Stroebel, but maybe.

As much as I like other books by Bill Hybels and Lee Strobel, it was me who suggested that my husband lead this study next for our group. I have to say this one was not our style. We bought these books to lead a small group study with some friends from church and I ended up being disappointed, along with many others in the group. The study structure is okay, some talk, some videos, some more talk, and it's done. OR, it can be done as more of a seminar style. The problem with this set up is that our small group was actually a very large group for this study and we had planned to watch the video and break up into smaller groups to discuss, however, the way this is set up is not conducive to the way our group was to be structured. We got past that and made adjustments to make it work for our group. Everyone was looking forward to this study, knowing the authors previous books, etc. Much to our surprise, the content wasn't something that we were really pleased with leading. Although the idea is to be prepared to share our faith, and that's why we wanted to do this study, to be prepared, it was offensive to myself and several others in the group as it was more pushy than we feel is appropriate in many cases and could mislead folks to push too hard too fast and push the other person in the other direction; away from God instead of to Him. There are situations where the push is needed but in most cases, it would push the person away and we just need to lead by example, be there, and let God lead. The book seems to be just a bit too pushy for our group and several people dropped out because of this. We were hoping to find ways to share our faith without being pushy and this study sounded appropriate for that, but turned out to be pushier than expected and actually offended several of us with some of the way messages were relayed. We did, however, VERY much enjoy doing the quiz that helped us recognize what our style was and the tips for that specific style. That was the one thing we all thought was a positive.

I like this book because it gives me encouragement as I think of my witness in a different way. This a great plan. Of course it may not work for everyone but I recommend it to all just to get the encouragement and thought process as you answer the questions. Any way that we can get the Good News of the love of God and Jesus death on the cross for our sins, taking our punishment out to the world, let's take advantage and be Contagious Christians!

Thought I was buying the book instead of the guide (my mistake). I did get the book on kindle and love it. It has helped me see many areas and ways to spread the gospel in a way that is loving and kind. It has helped me realize that no matter what I think, I need to respond to what God thinks. If they matter to God, then they should matter to me!

Teaching this course right now. The Participant's Guides help the students dig in and also they can review them for reflection later. Excellent material, concisely, lucidly and well presented. Several students are saying they are now psyched to share the Gospel.

A detailed outline on how I can better live my life to be a contagious Christian as I actively plant the seed of salvation into someone's life.However, disappointed that I didn't receive the DVD - "Who is Jesus" and "Stories of Contagious Christians". Can it be sent to me?Albert Gagnon

Getting more excited about the subject the more I read, must get the DVD

Books came in perfect condition, they just took a month to post from the USA to Europe. Happy customer though.
