Are these actual erasers when they're done?

They do erase but not very we'll according to my 9 year old daughter. She does have fun making them though!!

Why it would say for 6-15 months and then say only kids 8 and up should touch the clay. That makes no sense. It must mean 6-15 years.

What type of clay is this, does it contain PVC?

This is an oven bake clay. I am not sure about the PVC, but as an art instructor and aware of art toxins I would encourage people to use an extra toaster oven to bake this clay. I would not bake the clay in the same oven I cook food in. I gave it to my 7 year old grandson and he LOVED IT!
