Dear customer, no, it not come with food ,walter and ants, the gel with nutrition which provide all food and walter that ants needed, but you can also feed them with little pieces fruit or honey in the feeding area. How many ants can this handle?

It isn't very big, so not a lot. It also depends on the size of the ants. Harvester ants, which are readily available online, are big. It might hold 20-25 of them.

Does this come with ants? And if not where can I get some.

It does NOT come with ants and truthfully I am a little disappointed in the size ... the picture makes it look like a decent size but in face it's only about 5 inches high and about 7 inches from right angle side to right angle side ... maybe 10-20 ants and it's over crowded. As fat as ants you can google them and there are several places to order online or trap some in your own yard which is fun too.
