Simple and effective. This thing saved me having to change my beloved frame so that I could lug my laptop and a change of clothes to work every day.On my seat post I do occasionally find it a little hard to tighten the screw thread adequately and still manage to close the latch - strong fingers help. Once it's on, there is relatively little side to side sway - which was a concern before buying this.If you're a short rider and don't have much seatpost available to clamp to you may need an alternative solution. It may sound obvious, but let's say that the clamp is 3" on this... that means you need at least 3" of seat post available between your frame and seat.

bought the saddle bag frame as well. I am good to go. I really like the snap on fold out paniers with this.

Not what I thought I was receiving

These work perfectly with the MTX rack, to keep the panniers in place, though I would like the plastic rods that hold it stable on the sides to be made out of the same metal as the rear stabilization piece. No problems yet, I was just concerned during install with over-tightening the side braces and braking one, or if I lay my bike down, it might rest on the rack and brake the brace.

I received this product missing a bracket that holds both of the frames stable.It is the bracket that goes on the back. I also purchased the Topeak MTX trunk bag and Rackwith hopes of being able to use this stuff but I was cautioned not to use the panniers or the trunkbag until I received the missing piece. This puts a big damper on my commute to work. Otherwise,all these products would probably be great but I need that missing bracket before I can recommendanyone to buy this.

I have found this to be a very useful cargo rack for all my cargo needs in combination with an MTX cargo bag. With heavy loads it does occasionally drift off center but this is very minor. A clean seat post and a tight fit make this rack stay in place without much hassle. If rack movement is your only concern I'd say get this rack. I have the V-Type rack with the pannier extension and I load them to the brim and bike around at 20+ MPH no problem. Great product!

After two months of use a screw that connects the two sides of the rack together with a bridge came loose. I called up Topeak and their response: we don’t have replacement screws. Now I gotta find a screw that fits. I’m not surprised it came loose. There are no washers nor nuts. My advice: if using this rack check the screws every few weeks if not more and retighten.
