AutoStyle Cable set for automatic light switch Daytime Running Lights (DRL) - Direct to battery, Black

Arrived quickly as usual, but no instructions with it. Simple enough to install however, since I was replacing failed Philips unit, so I re-used the inline 3amp fuse and battery connections that unit had and used inline red butt crimps to connect the red and black wires to those. The kit would benefit from these being included, even if it pushed the price up by a few pounds. I soldered the orange wire to the dipped headlight wire by the nearside headlight connector and but crimped the two pairs of outputs to my existing DRLs. All connections sealed with amalgamating tape since I think the old unit failed due to water ingress shorting it’s outputs. The unit bolted to the bulkhead in the same place as the old unit using original screw and locking nut.The controller works well, it turns on the DRLs when the ignition is switched on, and off when headlights are on dipped. I noted that they did not then come on again after switching the headlights off, until the engine was started. With engine running they switch off and back on very quickly in response to the headlights being turned on and off. When the engine is stopped with headlights off, they take a couple of seconds to react then switch off.I fitted them to a 2014 Dacia Duster.Don’t know how reliable they will be, but so much cheaper than getting the dealer to replace the original one!! It’s an easy DIY job if you have wire cutters, a crimping tool and soldering iron.

I chose this item after reading reviews indicating how easy it was to install.I fitted the switch after purchasing the bits required but not included (i.e. connectors, inline fuse and fuse holder)Having completed the wiring and taping up everything very neatly, I discovered the device did not bring the DTR lights when theengine was started, they only came on with the headlights (the reverse of what should happen!).I contacted Amazon who were unable to help but provided a 'phone number of Autostyle who denied all knowledge of the product.Again I contacted Amazon who helpfully suggested I return the items (I'd bought two) for refund. I found that Auto Style on line wasstill advertising and contacted them and was told the problem was with Amazon, no one was able to help!I did discover that if I disconnect the orange wire from dipped headlights the DTRs work as they should when engine is started.The DTRs do not go out with dipped headlights but a subsequent MOT found no fault, so I'm happy to leave things as they areand will now fit the other switch to our second vehicle. Pity that a brilliant product had no technical back up!

Bought this about 4 weeks ago now so its been up and running for some time. Very easy to fit and works fine.I have an 09 Mazda so the only problem was finding the correct trigger wire on the bulbs. I found dipped beam used a red and a black wire where the wiring to the sidelight was totally strange. connected to the red on the dipped beam and they worked. So they stay on when the side lights come on which is good as the front bulbs on this car are pretty dull and as the rear sidelights are LED's then its a plus plus for me.If you flash full beam they trigger off and on with the flash which looks good and makes the action more noticeable, so another plus. Have found that they stay on for 15 -20 seconds from switch off and come on when unlock is triggered on the fob which is nice at night as they put a good pool of light down for you to see by, third plus!Have fitted an in line fuse on the positive feed from the battery which was purchased for pence from Halfords along with a few other connectors so I feel that my battery is protected if anything goes amiss.

Well to be honest I'm disappointed with the unit, yes if you wire into the side light it will turn off the DRLs. ..BUT they won't turn off any other way .. I've come home to find the DRLs on randomly when they should only be on after starting the van,I'm now going to wire the control unit into a on off switch as I can't be arsed to un install it x😡

Very quick delivery from the seller, impressed so far. The unit is very nice and compact, and easy to install. I've had it a while now and so far no issues at all, does what it says it should. Other people have complained about the bullet connectors but lets be fair, they can be changed to what ever connection you like. Excellent value for money and would definitely buy again,

Took about an hour to fit to my Renault Espace. Connectors fitted to the item are pretty rare and you will probably have to change them (I did).Very careful about fitting, even soldered joints before insulating. Wiring diagram did not apply to the item sent and the picture for the itemon Amazon did not match the item either. Anyway figured it all out but item would not work. Seemed to have a mind of its own. Lights on whenthey should have been off etc. I checked my battery voltage without engine running (12.2V) and with engine running (14.3) so absolutely nothingwrong with the car and my wiring was good. Just appears to be a very poor product. Maybe I was unlucky but I certainly could not recommend.The only good thing about this transaction was that I quickly received a refund, no questions asked. Suspect that they have had this problembefore.

Used this switch to control the DRLs I fitted to my car. Very simple installation with clear instructions. The box is wired to switch off when any of the car lights come on via a cable which piggy backs the sidelight cable.The unit has been fitted to the car for a few months now and has performed perfectly to date. It doesn't make any loud noises etc and piggy backing off a disused fuse has prevented any errors messages or issues with the car's existing electrical system.A very good product which has delivered the reliability I needed.
