Q: Is this actually a hard case i see many that say they are but once they get them its a different story

So this is not hard plastic or metal, nor is it a flimsy, floppy sack. it's a rigid, stiffened, somehow reinforced "hard" case with a material like covering. Will it, can it, be crushed? Sure, more easily than a hard plastic or metal container, yet this would suffice in most day to day use scenarios to protect the tool. Hope this helps.
