The Smanos W100 alarm system is a new sleek looking dual network alarm with touch screen. The W100 supports both Wi-Fi and PSTN (landline phones). To set up, plug in your home’s PSTN line and then complete the setup using Wi-Fi via either an iOS or Android device. The free app is available for download via the App store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Setup, monitoring, and controlling of the alarm system is all done via the smartphone app. You can also control and monitor your alarm system via the touch screen interface on the Smanos W100 control panel. The dual networks work in tandem and as backups for each other. When an alarm is triggered, preprogrammed numbers will get a notification call or a push message. The landline is the primary alert and notification method but if the line has been compromised, the alerts are sent out via WiFi. W100 alarm system comes with the touch screen control hub, 1 motion detector, 1 door/window contact and 2 wireless remote controls. Designed and engineered in Holland.

Look elsewhere
I've owned this unit for a little over a year and I honestly can't recommend it to too many ppl. I'm a tech by trade, so I'm biased to new technology, but this thing has been a challenge even for me to deal with. The configuration should be able to be done through an app, but instead it's a combination of clunky button pushing and terrible app instructions. It's just not intuitive and not much has changed since I bought it. The only pro is that it's a stand alone system, but other then that it's one step away from a trash can for me. Maybe if you buy it and set it up once it's good, but if you ever need to make changes...it's all over.

Very good system, comes with additional features too
I actually purchased this for my father’s house as I thought it would give us both a little peace of mind. The system was relatively inexpensive and had a motion and a door sensor which I figured would be enough to get us going to see if we liked having it, and if we did we could expand or upgrade it later. After getting it, we found it to have a couple of features not even mentioned that I really love. The best feature is SOS. We set the system up to call myself and my brother (you can add up to 4 more numbers) got dad a nice lanyard and put one of the remote fobs on it. Now if dad falls or needs help he can press the SOS and it will automatically call both me and my brother. So far have not had to use it but yes, we have tested it and it works great. This one feature alone makes the system worth 10x’s what I paid! So for our purposes it is like an SOS device with the bonus capability of letting you know if a door has been opened or if something is moving in the house. The second feature which was not mentioned is the "Stay" mode. We haven’t used it yet but apparently this arms the windows and doors but not the motion sensor inside. Pretty clever thought, so dad could potentially move around freely indoors while still being safe and secure within the house. Not sure if we will use it this way, but really it is a great idea. All in all we are very happy with this system and highly recommend it to those of you that have an older parent living alone.

Not friendly setup
Not my cup of tea as it came in a new box but the contents had a weird coating on the sensors. Looked like someone melted a hard candy over it.Looked at the other contents and the app and it had promise but did not seem to be a user friendly setup. Definitely more towards a definite effort to setup vs a plug and play.

Great system, especially for the money...
My smanos was delivered on Sunday! Amazon Prime rocks!! I have a small townhome and am single so I could have done with a little different configuration like two sensors and 1 remote but that does not impact my review. Merely an observation you should consider.I was able to get it set up within 15 minutes including reading the instructions which are pretty good but, as with most instructions, could be a bit better. I did appreciate being reminded of the fact to have my network password handy from another review posted as it does help the setup seem to go more smoothly. For now, I have setup with the door sensor on the front door and the motion sensor in the main living area which should cover all entry points from the rear on the townhome, backdoor and windows. I am not concerned with upstairs windows at all.Again, I would have like one more door sensor as this was I could have set up both the front and back door along with the motion sensor and been able to set the home function which just arms the outside perimeter sensors and turns off the inside so you can move about freely inside the townhome w/o triggering the alarm yourself. I will need to purchase 3 more door/window sensors to be a complete system for my purposes. Glad I was able to pick this up on sale at 20% off.I am pleased with this item so far and look forward to playing with it more on my app. I give it a solid 4.5 stars and in math class I was always taught to round up so 5 stars it is!

... and decided to pull the trigger and so far glad that I did
Saw some mixed reviews and decided to pull the trigger and so far glad that I did. Overall I give it a 5.I like the clean design and it is perfect for my house. It took me longer to read the instructions than it took to set it up but I think it would have not gone well if I hadn’t read the instructions. Be sure to know your network name and password as it will go much smoother with this in hand. I did not and had to stop, get up out of my chair and go get it!One weird point was when I downloaded and opened the APP it tried connecting and then got some sort of offline message. I said okay and then went to the wifi icon, entered the network name and password and about two minutes later we were all set up.The sensors are easy to install. I would recommend to install during the day or early evening as the alarm is very loud and not pleasing to the neighbors when testing it at 11:30pm.

Really pleased with this alarm system
got it quick, thanks Amazon. This thing is just what I needed/wanted for my office. I am glad It came basic as this is all I needed as my office is on the scond floor of an office building so the 1 door sensor and 1 motion sensor are PERFECT for my application. I do not have to keep track of unused sensors or have to pay for more than I needed. It is nice to know that if I move and the next place has two doors or some windows, I can buy an additional sensor(s) then. Probably would have had to anyway as I would have probably lost any sensors that I did not use to begin with :)Out of the box it was pretty straight forward but did read the instructions a couple of times. Plugged it in, got it in setup mode, attached to wifi, downloaded app, opened app, entered network and password (good idea to have your network name and password handy) and within a couple of minutes I was switching back & forth to armed and unarmed. Another nice feature, but initially did not understand, was what they call "Stay." The "Stay" command means that if I am in my office and want my door armed but not my interior motion sensor armed, I press the Stay command and it only arms the perimeter sensor, sensors if I had more than one door or window sensors with th system, pretty cool.In my opinion this is a geat little alarm system.
