Beautiful Design, Slow to Use
This unique bottle opener is beautifully finished, and has a wonderful mechanism. After retrieving the cork (which works flawlessly, without any cork crumbling), the screw is tight, and you have to turn the knurled nut all the way down prior to reversing the handle to remove the cork. Not a fast opener, but it functions well and looks good. Requires moderate hand strength.

Sturdy and well built. Different to other ones which flick from going into the cork and bringing the cork out. This system relies on carrying on screwing in fear that you will break the metal.Once you get used to the system it will prove that it is better than traditional corkscrew and last a lifetime.

Kein Korkenzieher wie jeder andere, daher vielleicht auch nicht Jedermanns Sache.Bei uns tat der Erste lange Jahre Dienst, bis er auf dem Fruchtweintreffen vergessen wurde. Der Zweite ist gerade angekommen.Die Bedienung sieht im ersten Moment komplizierter aus, als sie ist.Einfach gegen den Uhrzeigersinn ganz herausdrehen, und auf die Flasche setzen.Dann im Uhrzeigersinn erst die Spirale in den Korken drehen und diesen dann beim Weiterdrehen aus der Flasche ziehen.Anschließend wieder gegen den Uhrzeigersinn drehen um den Korken "auszuspucken".Mit etwas Übung kann man auch ein Durchstoßen des Korkens verhindern."Wer gut schmiert, der gut fährt" gilt hier besonders. Ein wenig Teflonspray auf die Gewinde, und nötige Kraftaufwand verringert sich nochmal deutlich, ohne dass man fettige Finger bekommt.Der Bacchus ist ein Hingucker, Handschmeichler und Spielzeug, das man immer wieder in die Hand nimmt. Aber er kann auch was, und hat bei mir noch keinen Korken zerbröselt. Es verbiegt nichts daran, auch wenn die Korken mal fester sitzen, und er lässt sich auch mal gut reinigen, ohne das etwas anfängt zu rosten.Wenn man ein Faible für das Ungewöhnliche hat, bekommt man mit ihm einen halt- und brauchbaren Korkenzieher mit Verwunderungsfaktor bei den Gästen.
