Yes, the screws are pitiful, but I have millions of screws in bins, so I grabbed 8 wide 3/8" square-head screws and made it indestructible. My last filter was identical to this, and it lasted 14 years. IT WAS HELD TOGETHER WITH TWO 3" LONG PIECES OF DUCT TAPE! So much for people saying it fell apart after 2 weeks. This filter with a little common sense will last a decade because its identical to my last, and it lasted 14 years. Can't say about the filter material yet. Time will tell. My issue was more with Amazon. It arrived slightly damaged and it took like 8 days to arrive. My issue isn't about shipping time as much as it is that it took 4 days before it even was scanned at UPS, and it wasn't over a weekend either. If the package takes 3 days to arrive, why wait 4 days to ship it? cough up sale prime coughPS for all those complaining about the screws... Sheesh. You can buy a clear box of assorted screws and bolts at any hardware store. You'll be set for the next 100 items that come from China with cheap screws.My last filter (identical) worked flawlessly for 14 years. I see no reason this one wont as well. Maybe even longer because last time I didn't make the frame as strong. Im happy.

Be prepared to spend at least 2 hours to customize the size of this nightmare. I tried to cut the black plastic grid with poultry scissors, which will cut chicken bones. Hurt my hands quite badly, even trying to cut one (of 134!) intersections. Pruning sheers were easier but still difficult, and left nubs that had to be filed down. The green filter pad sticks to EVERYTHING like Velcro, especially the white plastic grid that sandwiches it. No matter how you compress the edges, the filter does NOT want to go into the frame (the frame channel is narrow) - get it into one side, and it pops out of the other 2. And, my frame pieces did NOT have "pre-drilled holes" to attach 4 screws, just slight dimples to show where the holes should be, on the top piece of the frame where they overlap - nothing at all on the bottom piece. Lastly, the advertising paper cover states "It takes 120 disposable filters over ten years to replace the Eco filter Plus." Do the math: if you run your furnace for 7 months of the year, and change the filter monthly, that's 70 filters in ten years, not 120, making it less of a bargain by almost half. I've never heard filters should be changed more often. I've had similar filters in the past - I hope this works as well, but what a literally painful and time-consuming job to size it! Never again.

I purchased this thinking it would be cheaper in the long run than purchasing disposable filters; that may be so, if it was a bit simpler to 'adjust' the size. Do NOT purchase this, especially if you are a senior citizen and/or don't have 6 hands. I have attempted to cut this to size to no avail so just wasted my money and, of course, since I did TRY to size it, now I can't return it.

Overall, this filter does exactly what you would expect based on the description. It provides everything that you need to create a custom size filter for your furnace. It uses well made materials, provides clear instructions, and you end up with a high quality re-useable filter.A few things to consider if you are going to purchase this filter.1. Note the airflow sticker on the size of the frame before you disassemble to customize the size of the frame. I did not notice the sticker until I took mine a part. I was able to call the manufacturer and they gave me the correct orientation for the filter media over the phone.2. If you are customizing the size of this filter, you need to be aware that the actual size of a filter is typically smaller than what you use for ordering. In my case, I order 25”x27” filters. The actual size is 20 5/8” x 26 1/8”. If you cut the Web Products filter to the size that you typically order, it will be too big for your furnace. I recommend keeping one of the disposable paper filters that fits your furnace to use as a template.3. Use tin snips if you have them to cut the frame items that need trimmed for custom sizes. You can do it with ordinary scissors but your hands will get quite a work out.4. It took me about an hour to get through the custom sizing process for mine. It is a tedious process and a second pair of hands can come in handy.5. You may want to consider ordering two of these filters. Once you clean this filter it stays wet for a while. It is not likely good for your blower unit to put a damp or wet filter in front of it. I keep one on the shelf and pull out the dirty one and replace it with my extra. By the time I need to swap them out again, the one I cleaned if completely dry.6. I am a huge proponent of Amazon, but feel compelled to let folks know that you can order a custom size filter already made from the Web Products web site for $5.00 more. This is the route that I took for my second filter.7. This item is made in the U.S.A. which is great to see.

Il faut travailler un peu pour fabriquer à la bonne dimension, mais le produit est de très bonne qualité. Mon premier ensemble a pris 18 ans avant d'être bon pour les poubelles.
