Great vent works well, strong airflow
I have purchased this vent over a dozen times, the latest version I am reviewing now is the best one yet, the volume and power is great and it improves the airflow and removes the attic heat very well. The installation is easy with two options on this model for a thermostatically controlled and always on with the sun option. works great ! very good quality Highly recommended !

Great fan for the attic.
This fan has been in use in my attic for about a year now, i set the thermostat and it has helped lower my utility bill because the inside of my house is able to stay cooler. This fan is fairly quite i can barley hear it in the attic when its running if i have no background noise inside the home. It provides great air flow in the attic, was very easy to install, and functions perfectly with the adjustable thermostat.

Great solution for poorly insulated attic
Living on the top floor of an old house has always meant dealing with extreme heat in the summer. The space heats up so quickly, and even though we added extra insulation when we moved in, it didn’t completely resolve the issue. The top floor would still become unbearably hot, making it difficult to enjoy the space. After researching solutions, I decided to try this solar-powered attic fan, and I’m so glad I did.Installation was straightforward, and I was pleasantly surprised by how well it works. The fan has improved ventilation in the attic space between the ceiling and roof rafters, which was previously a major source of heat buildup. Since the fan started running, our top floor has stayed significantly cooler, even on the hottest days. The fan’s solar power is a great bonus since it runs efficiently without increasing our energy costs. The difference has been night and day. The temperature on the top floor is much more comfortable now, and the fan works quietly without being intrusive. It has made a huge difference in maintaining a livable temperature throughout the summer, and I’m really happy with the investment. If you're dealing with similar heat issues in an old house or a poorly ventilated attic, this fan is definitely worth considering—it’s a practical and effective solution.

Variable Speed Attic Fan with 14” blades. Highly recommend
I installed the variable speed controller and 14” blade exhaust fan in my attic at the beginning of Dec, which was a much nicer installation as the attic temperature was much cooler than normal as the outside temperature was much lower. Once I had mounted the fan high up on an outside wall that already had a (shutter) vent. I only needed to have a 120vAC outlet to plug in the fan controller. Overall I found the insulation easy and was very pleased with this product quality which has worked flawlessly since, very pleased I purchased this fan.Since the fan was installed I have noticed a big difference in the attic temperature and have saved money on my utility bill because my AC unit is not running as much as it was before the fan was installed. The fan is not too loud either, quieter than I originally thought it would be when the fan is running. However, I did decide to mount the fan on rubber (shock absorber) anti-vibration pads (purchased separately) to help with any vibration, noise from the surrounding wood framing where the fan was mounted.Normally I keep my AC at 72 deg F, so by exhausting the very hot attic air (Max 150 degrees F) that’s in my attic, which transfers heat through the ceiling into living spaces below. My AC doesn't need to come on as early in the day and shuts down sooner in the evening.Overall I am glad I made this decision to install this fan in my attic and very happy with this purchase.

GR8 fit & money saver for our Cape Cod home
Well made, sturdy fan & solar panel with good adjustability. This unit was installed when we got a new roof. Easy for the contractor to do and also point the solar panel in the direction we wanted. Dropped right in the roof opening for the old, classic power attic fan. It’s *very* quiet and quite a relief from the standard attic fan we had that was noisy and oversized for our Cape Cod (800 sq ft in attic). The thermostat on it is easy to adjust and seems accurate. And we like the solar power to save $ plus the hybrid model we got runs off a regular 110V wall outlet (includes long cord, 6-8 ft) for cooling at night. We’ve had had this fan running for 3 summers now and it has been a blessing.

Works great
After some "independent research on the internet," I installed this fan in a garage attic space to help expel hot air. Still warm (but not as much as before) in the garage (since that is the source of air going into the attic space), but at least now it's not like 100 degrees plus kind of warm up there.Installation tips - use rubber isolation pads (available on Amazon) to help minimize vibration/noise. Runs pretty quiet. Only significant extra cost is having an outlet installed vs running an extension cord through the ceiling or using a light socket adapter. Measurements - the length from center to outer screw hole max is 12 inches, the slots on the brackets are an inch long, the square length is 17 inches from max screw distance to max screw distance. Fasten three connections with wood screws first to hold it in place (first one is the hardest holding that above you and doing a one-handed drill/screwdriver thing), then go back to insert the isolation pads between the ceiling wood and the bracket. Decided to use all 8 pads that came in the pack (so, two screws per bracket, one in each slot).

Incorrect product and faulty thermostat
The fan that arrived in the box labeled ILG8G14-12T is NOT the fan pictured. The fan that was delivered is a four blade fan and worse than that, the thermostat is configured incorrectly. Since installation, several days ago, the fan has not shut off. The thermostat is set at the recommended range but will not shut off when cool, it only shuts off if the temperature exceeds the setting. The thermostat is reversed. I do not recommend this fan and do not look forward to having to having to complete the process of uninstalling this faulty product and then having to install a new fan. I will not use this brand again.
