Worth the money
I live in an extremely windy area. At times, the wind has torn the car door from my grasp. This guard trim has been a help. I wish everyone would use them so my car is protected from other doors. It's also useful in the garage if I park too close to one side. It goes on easily (provided you don't do it on a cold day), and it has withstood car washes without difficulty.09-07-13 update: I bought these in cold weather, and I'm still glad to have them, but I live in a desert. It's get hot in the summer, regularly over 100 degrees. This melts the glue, and of course, it drains downward. It's necessary to be very careful where you put your hands when grabbing the edge of the door if you used two pieces to cover the entire edge (top section along the window, bottom section along the body). I often forget and grab where the upper piece stops, so I get a handful of glue, which is stringy. If I'm not careful, the strings get on the car and on me when I remove my hand. It does come off, but it a huge nuisance. Now that I know better, I would not recommend putting the strips along the window edge unless it juts out and contacts other cars, stuff in the garage, etc. Also, for all I know all door guard strips have this problem with the glue in hot weather.

Easy to install and the quality you should have
Yes, it is expensive, looks cut-off of a bulk roll, and was sent in a cheap envelope by USPS. But, it came fast, it is high quality and what I want on my cars, and went on easily. I may order more and may give some as gifts. It is easy to cut to length, comes with easy to understand English instructions, it is easy to clean the door edge with alcohol and dry prior, easy to apply, and no adhesive is exposed to the door sides or the hands/fingers. It is kind-of like an adhesive gel deep inside the curve. Once in place tap it lightly with a rubber mallet or cut a hole in a tennis ball and slip your regular hammer in it for a soft tap. This arrived about 7 days early by post office. The coil was quite twisted in the envelop but I let it sit in the sun for a few minutes and it was easy to work with. I have large doors and could have used about 5-6 ft. more but covered what was most apt to get damaged at the store or pumps. I very highly recommend this seller and item. Hopefully it will not harden or yellow over time. I will update if it does.

Just as expected
Put 5 since the product is just as I imagine. It has the same quality as other moldings I've found in my country(black and silver).Pros:- It is hard to see from certain distance.- Time to install is around 5~10 min.- Fits very well to curvy shapes.Cons:- The glue can be seen from outside.- Particles from the envelop can get stick to the glue.- When rainy, some drops of water can get inside and be visible from outside. So far I am happy with it.UPDATE: 2015/01/27After a couple of months the glue got a yellowish color. Now after 6 months there are black stains inside the product. If you want to be changing the product each 2~4 months then this is the product for you.Otherwise, if you are like me, I would suggest to buy another molding guard with a solid color(silver, black,...).Updated the rating to 4 stars from 5

Easy to apply
Just follow the enclosed directions by measuring twice and cutting once this clear trim molding, clean the edges of your car doors you plan to apply the molding to using rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth, then beginning at one end gently push the snugly fitting guard in place, and continue pushing all along the edge until you reach the end of your door. Then using a cloth to protect your car finish, use a rubber malet to tap it finally into place as snug as it can get. It's simple, really. And it has worked for me. Now I'm not so worried about losing the paint on my door edges or bumping my door edge accidently into a car parked too close to mine. I had read some comments before I purchased this that said there's came off immediately. I don't know how that is even possible with as tight of a grip this has and how you first press it on as far as it will go by using just your hands, then tapping it into place with a rubber mallet just to ensure it's on as far as it can go (because it's a TIGHT fit) - mine works exactly as it's supposed to. I followed the clearly stated instructions to a tee - works great.

Worked for a little over a year
Bought this in the early fall of 2014, for my GMC Yukon. It did have paper on the glue in the channel, as other reviewers have mentioned, yet I still used it. Every time I washed the car I could see moisture along the length of the molding. It started falling off about 6 months ago, and I just removed it yesterday. This product did not yellow at all. There was a lot of black spots on the guard and on my car....almost like residual dirt and mold. I was able to remove the glue and dirt/mold from my car using goo gone spray gel, by spraying the gel on my fingers and applying it to the glue left on the door, and then using a plastic putty scraper. All residual glue and dirt/mold came off and there was NO damage to my paint. Will purchase again, because other products have complaints of yellowing and the u-channel is not as deep. Lasted 3.5 years. Now starts to fall apart.
I can finally give a long usage review in the brutal weather of the AZ desert. Installing it was a no brainer. Cut to the length you want, push onto the edge of the door and leave alone.I left it alone for 3.5 years. In the last few weeks I've noticed that the plastic is falling apart... Not only apart from the door, but literally braeking to pieces. The harsh summers here are the best durability test many won't need.I removed the pieces from the car and now I have leftover plastic/glue that will need to be carefully removed before buying a new strip to cut the place.Would I buy it again? Sure. It did its job and protected the edges of my SUV for 3.5 years. Will I buy this one again? Probably not. I will try the black thicker one that has some soft edges outside the trim.Overall, I was very happy with the product.
