Ride on Car review
Hello, this is my first in depth product review!. I'm writing this review to help other bargain shoppers make an educated decision before purchasing this product. This review is not fake, I am not being paid for it, and it is 100% honest coming from a single, unemployed father of 1 with very limited funds for Christmas this year as is the case for many of my fellow American's anymore. So lets get down to it.For starters, the package was recieved in good order 2 days after purchasing this product. All components were individually wrapped in plastic and the contents were surrounded in foam to help keep the items safe from bumping around in transit. Thumbs up for packaging!I performed an initial inventory (knowing alot of these chinese products are sometimes notorious for missing pieces) All pieces were in proper order and there really isn't many, (most of the few hardware pieces can be found at any local hardware store if needed (washers, etc) Thumbs up for doing your jobs chinese quality inspector guys!Ok, now this car comes partially assembled, as in the front R/C steering gear is already installed which is nice and the rear motor is already zip tied in the location it's going to be at in final assembly. I was pretty surprised to see that the plastic molded car body is actually braced underneath in numerous places with metal braces and brackets which looks great and adds to the durability of the plastic molded car body. Thumbs up on the workmanship of the car's plastic frame. The wiring for the headlights and motor on off, forward/reverse switch are already ran for you and they are pretty secure. The instructions, which Chinese companies are notorious for misspelling and just being all round confusing to us must have had a good translator because they are very easy to understand, Thank God!All in all the total assembly time was about 45 minutes (I took my time) but can easily be done the evening before Christmas by Santa. All pieces were accounted for and the car is beginning to look very sharp.Alright, so after assembly I wanted to do a test of the entire unit for my review (but mainly so my little girl doesn't get up Christmas morning to a car that looks flashy but doesnt work and provoking the wrath of Dad)The battery already had a charge (let me note that the battery is preinstalled in the car with the hot power wire disconnected protecting battery life, along with wiring etc, good job people, thats important) The car ran great around the garage with what little juice the battery had in it (I believe this car may have been tested at the factory, but can't confirm this). The foot petal engages the motor properly and all the switches work properly. The parent remote control works fantastic and really is the selling factor for this car (my daughter is too little to operate the car manually)The car looks great, there are some runs in the plastic molded body, nothing major but it's typical to see run marks in manufactured molded plastics like this. A couple of the stickers are kinda bubbled and the words on them are a little cheesy I think, like Speed, and DreamCar. I wish those weren't written into the decals, but the color is awesome looking (i bought the silver car) the headlights are really modern and work great, and the "chrome" rims really make the car stand out. Oh and I forgot to mention the "MP3 player". That is a misconception and will get a penalty on my review as it is misleading. The car comes with a jack so that you can plug your existing mp3 player into it. It DOES NOT have a standalone mp3 player preinstalled. The steering wheel has a couple things pre-programmed into it, like a horn which sounds pretty retarded, not like a horn should sound. There are blinker sounds and a voice that says "turn right" and some buttons to play baby music (which my daughter at age 2 1/2 is out of the baby music stage and just likes to break stuff and push buttons) The button sounds are disabled when you plug your mp3 player into it though, which is a good thing and my cheap $10 mp3 player really works well with the car (I had Michael Jackson "Beat it" playing during my test drive with the R/C controller)The car says ages 2-4 or something along those lines. I would say it would probably only be good for 2-3 year olds as the seat and leg area is pretty small and would not accomodate my friends 3 1/2 year old comfortably at all I dont think. (My daughter is tiny for her age so I think smaller children will benefit more as far as comfort is concerned)So I'll wrap this review up with a Pro-Con summaryPro's: WAY cheaper than name brand "power wheels", Quality is very similar to the name brand power wheels seen at Wal-Mart, assembly is very easy and doesn't take long, packaging is nicely done, remote control gives it an edge over other brands especially if you have very young children, eye appeal is good, the car does not look cheap and is very modern and flashy looking, the car operates as it is intendedCon's: Car is small and maybe not suitable for kids over 3 years old, MP3 player is a misconception as it only has a jack for one you already own, stickers bubble in some places and some noticable runs in the molding.I'm giving this car 5 stars, for two main reasons. It has given me a chance to buy my daughter something she is going to love when I could not afford a "name brand" car for her, and still does everything the name brand would do plus more (R/C remote). I think the overall quality is there and the molding issues are going to be present in any power wheels plastic molded body that is mass produced on an assembly line. This item comes highly recommendd by me, especially for those of you who are in a position like me where bargain hunting is absolutely neccessary. Thanks,Jesse in Elizabethtown, Ky

Well worth it!!!
My grandson just turned 2 and I got this for his 2nd birthday and he absolutely loves it!!! It is a beautiful car, shiny for sure with so many features. It is well built, very easy to assemble and the charging system is superb, where you can't overcharge the battery. But the best part is the parental remote control...that feature is so AWESOME... I actually think my son and daughter in law have more fun with it then they should lol...Now the only thing that is a little concerning is the in car speed control which is very easily accessible and very easy to figure out for the little one, wish it was a little more of a better option, but even with that the car in hi-speed isn't really incredibly fast.Overall I'm very very pleased.Update 5/19My grandsons car broke down. He's still learning the driving aspect so he runs into things from time to time. The last time the gears in the motor stripped. The gears are made of plastic, which I can see as a safety feature, if it was truly made to be this way, I can imagine the gears being metal, the car would continue to drive and could possibly flip or tip over. Well I did purchase the 2 year warranty and my son contacted them and had 2 new motors in less then a week. All I can say is the warranty is worth it, the toy is awesome and my grandson loves it. Buy the warranty...

Very impressed with build quality and performance!
Pros:Least-expensive 12V car I've foundLots of LEDs - including a speedometer-like battery charge meterLOUD speaker (with adjustable volume knob)Simple to put together (took me <10 min) and very sturdy - yet light enough to carry with one handPlenty fast enough for my 1yo and 2.5yo kidsWorks just fine in grassGreat styling - looks very expensiveCons:No soft-start. Motion is either on or off - and can have a whiplash-like affect on very small childrenSteering radius is slightly better than my 43' diesel-pusher RVCannot switch between remote and kid-operated modes from the remoteToggle between fast and slow (and remote vs. local control) are huge, easy-to-push buttons placed right next to childSeatbelt isn't able to adjust to very tiny waists (my 1yo)Remote range is rather fickle - and when it drops out, the car STOPS suddenly slamming child back and forthOther thoughts:The car comes with two motors - one for each of the rear wheels. In the 'slow' mode, only one motor is used, In the 'fast' mode, both are activated. Using the fast mode is the same speed as a brisk walk. Slow, on the other hand, is slower than a casual walk. There are three buttons on the steering wheel, but only two of them are functional. the left button is a horn, and the right button plays pre-programmed songs. Each press switches to the next song - which is an eclectic mix of Indian/Asian/Arabic sounding songs. Pressing the main on button generates a revving engine sound for a few seconds. The volume dial controls all sounds (song, horn, engine revving on start up, and presumably the MP3 which I have not tried).Delivery took about 4 days after ordering. It arrived on the 13th. I can't believe how hard it is to wait for Christmas to give this to my 2.5yo. I couldn't wait, so I put it together to 'test' it. I used my 1yo daughter (who is sitting and walking just fine) as a guinea pig. Aside from the initial rough start/stop whiplash, she smiled the entire time. Her legs and arms are too short to reach the pedal or steering wheel. The seat belt was also too loose for my liking - but it worked. As I write this review, I see that the unit is out of stock. I'm just very grateful I was able to order, receive, and test this unit before Christmas. I'm sure compared to the $400+ units, this leaves a lot to be desired. But considering the age of my kids, and the inexpensive price, this has to be the biggest bang:buck ratio out there. To be honest, I'm actually considering ordering another one so both kids can ride at the same time...
