Battery Powered Corkscrew, Electric Wine Bottle Opener with Foil Cutter by American Era

It has worked every time to date. To me it sounds like the motor is working really hard, but it always works. Love the fact you can back the cork off when finished.

I bought this for my wife who struggles with other cork removal tools. I wanted one that had replaceable batteries because other people I know who have these with rechargeable batteries have had trouble with them after 18 months or so of sitting on a charger base. Seems that is the life cycle of the ni-cads or whatever they have in them and then it is useless. It has pretty good power, although it slows down considerably with a difficult cork it still manages to get it out. Can't tell how long it is going to last yet but so far so good. I like the reverse feature that just backs the cork off the corkscrew, easy to remove, not always the case with a butterfly or wing type corkscrew. Not outrageously priced so I thought it was worth a try.

I saw one of these in action at a friend's house. I immediately wanted one for myself. It works great and the shipping was as promised.

We love this product, it is so easy to use. We have given three as gifts after guests have raved about ours. We left ours at our rental snowbird home, and within an hour of discovering we left it, I ordered a new one.

I like the ease of use and gave it away for a gift.

The unit works fine, but comes apart. The cover to the battery compartment does not stay in place and falls out while I'm using it. I'd like to get a new cover. Tape might hold the cover in place.This is my second unit in the past many years, but I'm disappointed with this one.
